Yao is just as Asian or even more so than Lin. Yao should be the hero of all Asians in North America, South America, Europe , and the rest of the damn world. Lin doesn't deserve to be a hero because he hasn't brought cultures, countries and people together. Yao was an all star. Michael Chang is Asian American, why is he not loved like Lin? Does he have to be some rich kid with puts bible verses on twitter when he plays bad? So is Dat Nguyen and a bunch of Asians in baseball. Lin is not exclusive, the media made him exclusive.
Dominating 5 points, 0 assists. and 3 turnovers performance by Jeremy Lin. Whats his assist to turnover ratio for this game? I dunno......0/3 makes my calculator go crazy. Anyways, finally, a team that features Jeremy Lin.
Asian-American can relate more with Lin than with Yao. We were ridicule growing up in the USA, whenever we wanted to play sports like basketball, football and baseball. Especially Basketball. Tennis a top sports in American and in any major cities there are major asian kids playing on the HS tennis teams. Again another failed attempt by tinsane asylum.
good defensive game by Lin. only shot the ball 4 times but made his presence on defense. bet these LOH's can't wait for Lin to have a bad game rofl
LOL. I bet any unbiased Rox fans will take Jerry and his 2M contract over Beverly who is made in glass and is earning 6M per for next three years. Not to mention the 12M total mess in Ty Lawson. Jerry is just who he is. An impact bench player. Say whatever we want, but if we review his NBA resume, he is not that bad in term of helping teams winning: 1. Knicks, pulled them from dead and made playoffs the same year. 2. Went to Rox next year, helped Rox earn a playoffs seat for the first time in 4 years and was one of the major contributors, led team in assists. 3. Forward to next year, Rox won 54 games and made the playoffs again. The only time his team missed the playoffs was when he played for the Lakers, but as everyone knows, nobody could outfight the tank master Byron Scott and the chunk master Kobe Bryant, and Lakers are even worse after he left. This year the Hornets seems vastly improved also. They go from one of the worst teams in the eastern conference to currently sixth in the standing. Looks like they might have chance to make playoffs again. Jerry is one of the bench squads which are heavily contributing. In the mean time, the Rox looks like is heading for disaster and back to lottery.
Jeremy Lin now has the worst Assist/Turnover Ratio for PGs in the entire NBA. There are 44 PGs in the NBA who qualify for the stat. Lin last at 1.41 Poor LOFs. How are they going to explain this away? The Numbers are Clear
So, there are two PGs ahead of him on the depth chart now? Both Kemba and Kemba's backup? And can we put you down as now firmly believing that Lin is not an NBA PG!
I am going to go ahead and blame it on the Hornets security guy that did not know who Jeremy Lin was.
Funny thing is all 3 athletes on your list played at a high level. Yao was one of the best big men during his time and a great ambassador to the game of basketball. Michael Chang was a great tennis player. Dat Nguyen was a pro bowl linebacker in a sport where Asians have it worse than basketball.
Lin hardly at all plays pg and Charlotte is #1 in the league with the fewest turnovers committed. Charlotte has won 8 out of their last 10 and Lin is being called upon in fourth quarters to be a defensive stopper. Tonight v. Washington Lin's D was incredible. He forced a turnover, had 2 blocks and utterly shut down Ramon Sessions in the first half, and Gary Neal in the fourth, triggering a 22-0 run by Charlotte, and a W. There are other ways to contribute to a winning team besides offensive stats. His plus-minus is always best, or near best on the team. He gives the team energy, on both sides of the floor, and when Lin scores the Charlotte fans always seem to cheer a bit louder than for other Charlotte players.
I've been watching NBA basketball for a long time and it's been a while since I've seen as good defense as Charlotte played in the fourth quarter v. Washington (they went on a 22-0 run and Wizards scored just 6 points in the quarter...only 1 made field goal). San Antonio back in the day could turn it on defensively like that, and, the Pistons teams from 2004-05, but I really haven't seen that kind of defense since those days. If you have league pass watch the game starting at 8:30 in the fourth. The five Charlotte players play completely in sync defensively, and with controlled energy; its like they're possessed. Talk about flipping on a switch.
I am not going to defend Lin in this category but when I check the stats, I saw Jason Terry 1.29 Patrick Beverley 0.91 Gladly the Beard is handling the ball for us, he is at 1.34 at this moment.
