Can’t blame Lin for all these LOFs, given his background and inspiring life story but fact for the matter is the vast majority of LOFs are just not intelligent basketball fans and a waste of bandwidth for basketball forums. Its like pointing to a 32 second clip of a washed up McGrady playing as the 8th man for he hawks putting up 6pts 4 rebounds on 3-5 shooting and saying “look at his per 36 min stats if his racist coach gave him a chance he’d still be a 20ppg player”. Complete tunnel vision. Lin is just another Luther Head, a role player who gave us Rockets fans excitement at times but also terrible playoff performances. Move on and enjoy some basketball
It's funny, tho, that there are all sorts of comments talking about Ty Lawson...rather than bashing him, a lot of Rockets fans are talking about him not being put in a position to succeed by letting Harden handle the ball so much. When Lin fans said the same thing during his time here, Rockets fans thought Lin fans were being unreasonable, when the Lawson situation is pretty much identical (except that Lin did his best to adjust his game and sacrifice for the team, whereas Lawson just looks like he doesn't want to be here).
Perhaps...but then why do Rockets fans here seem to all say "Lin was the worst Rocket ever to wear the uniform" when he played pretty well for the team, especially considering his below-market contract? He is nowhere near the worst Rocket ever...and by claiming he is, you are simply inviting Lin fans to come to his defense.
So what does that make Yao Ming? Harriet Tubman? Is Michael Chang, Malcolm X? He's not Jackie Robinson because 1. Jackie Robinson was a starter and great player for many years 2. Yao Ming was Asian before Jeremy Lin
But LOF does not stand for Lawson Only Fans. There are no such thing. And LOFs have said what you mention about every team he's ever been on. So, explain your point again? Lin had to try to change his game, because he is not the best player on his team to run PG. He's not good enough to do what LOFs want him to do and blame everyone but Lin for not being able to do it. You're agreeing that LOFs only care about Lin and not any other teammate on three consecutive teams. You prove my point once again. LOFs are selfish brats who care nothing about team basketball.
Pryuen never lied about who he was unlike these guys colt45nyc and hayesisback He was a Yao fan and had no insecurities about it and didn't pretend he was a Houstonian astros fan who can't tell you the exact name of where they played. he didn't make up a user name to fake that he's a rockets or be part of houston culture and when Yao left, he left. He was also greatful to CLUTCH.
pryuen is not banned. We all actually really enjoyed his posts. He was also a contributing member, had over 4000 posts and stayed on cfnet posting regularly for five years. At worst he was somewhat an attention w****, but most all of us appreciated his dedication and contributions to the site. Oh, and here is what tinman said about him in the last thread that pryuen started. And the most prolific poster in cfnet history, and certainly at that time...here's DaDakota's take. his last thread start. Dude got plenty of love here, because of his dedication not only to Yao, but the Rockets as a whole. <a href="http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=150877">Do You Guys Miss Me, Yao and McGrady?</>
Good. I was merely a lurker when he was still a poster here and I remember seeing a lot of toward Pry. I'm glad he got some love.
For the first year or two, everyone loved him. But like what happens to a lot of internet personalities, he let the attention get to his head a little. Happened to me, too. Same with DaDakota. If you start posting a lot, you'll get some "hate" for being an attention w****. It's an internet thing. Not really about what you're saying, but how you say it. But what it does mean is people treated him as they would anyone else.
Actually, my point is different from yours. My point is that Lin fans have brought up many valid issues about team dynamics which were dismissed by some people simply because the issues were brought up by Lin fans. Now we are seeing that those issues were fair since we are seeing Lawson suffer the same issues. It doesn't prove your point at all...but rather proves that Lin fans were very good in their observations.
Michael Chang played an individual sport. Who was going to discriminate against him? His mom? Also, with tennis having regular international competitions, there was a more balanced opportunity for him. And again, Yao was not American and other never compared Lin's athletic ability to Jackie Robindon's.
It proves that Lin fans always blame his failures on every team he plays for. He had plenty of opportunities to run the second unit here, but Lin fans wanted him to be starter, when the Numbers Were Clear that Beverley was the better starter. And then it happens all over again in LA. Lawson has been here for 15 games and was clearly not trying. And he's been benched for it. Nearly the whole team didn't. The dynamics of this team are in disarray, comparable to the disarray of Lin trying to run a starting unit. So why would anyone use this to justify blaming Lin's failures on the Rockets when they repeat everywhere he goes.
Everyone is missing the point. It's not really so much about Lin's (great, but misunderstood) play here. It's about his newest hairstyles. I hear Lin's haircut can cure the blind.
