I heard it's because he had attitude issues and wasn't grasping the playbook effectively. As talented as he may be, he won't be able to contribute much with those two factors.
yep you're right...if u follow him on twitter, he is a douchebag. the way he announced his commitment to UH, the way he was pissed at not having number 7. He was acting cocky before every stepping foot on campus.
Seems like a South Carolina radio station has inside info that Herman will be meeting with them next week. http://sportstalksc.com/index.php/2015/11/23/usc-coaching-search-whos-hot-whos-not-verson-1-0/
How are you supposed to be 1-0 every week if your head coach isn't being 1-0 while he's off interviewing with another school?
And for all we know, this Ray Tanner guy may be traveling to meet with Herman in Houston, and not the other way around, and Tom Herman accepted for three possible reasons: 1. Out of respect 2. To get an idea of his market value/competition for reference in the UH contract renegotiation 3. To seriously consider USC 3 seems very slim, due to the fact that he would have to either carry over all his assistants with him, and they have nowhere near all the connections they have with Texas/Houston area high schools and their coaches in South Carolina. Herman himself has had experience in Texas since 1999, minus the years he was at Iowa State and Ohio State. Also, Herman is raising a family of 3 kids, and all bias/homerism aside, I'm almost certain Houston is a much greater city to do that in many different factors/categories. Lastly, he has a talent loaded class coming in for 2016 (headlined by Ed Oliver, as well as a few who are ineligible this season) and has already started recruiting for 2017. The fact that Houston is 10-1 with their current talent level and all the injuries is outstanding (10 different OLine starting lineups alone) and the future only looks to be greater with increasing SOS and possibly being invited to a P5 conference. Plus, this guy hugs (and kisses) the players (and starters) before every game, and he wouldn't do that if he didn't love them and preach loving each other to them. I'm no insider, and all this is based on what we already know, except for my predictions. Only time will tell what will happen.
Don't disagree with what you said...However, I do believe any coach would prefer a big time conference like the SEC...Hard to believe one and done for Herman, but stranger things have happened...

http://thebiglead.com/2015/11/24/lsu-replacements-jimbo-fisher-dan-mullen/ I'm surprised herman's not on that list...
LSU doesn't need to take a shot on an up-and-coming coach like South Carolina does. LSU can poach established coaches from successful P5 programs because it's LSU.
[rQUOTEr](UPDATE 11/24) We are told today a tentative agreement on an offer in principle between USC and Tom Herman has been reached. The deal is contingent on Herman and his wife liking what they see when they visit USC and Herman and Ray Tanner being comfortable with one another. That visit could take place as early as Sunday or the first part of next week depending on the outcome of Houston’s game Friday with Navy. A Houston loss would expedite the process. All information at this time points toward Herman. All other names are simply fallback prospects should things not work out with Herman. http://sportstalksc.com/index.php/2015/11/24/usc-coaching-search-whos-hot-whos-not-verson-1-0/[/rQUOTEr]
I'm gonna wait and see what happens, but pretty disappointing if true. So much for waiting until after the season to figure it out. He's been asking a lot of these kids to buy into his system and the #HTownTakeover, but seems like he didn't buy into it himself.
Which part isn't true? The offer in principle, or the whole meeting in general? I'm just as confused as you are.

Yea right. Sumlin and Briles said the same bs and the next thing you know they were gone. If he leaves those kids hanging after the navy game to go to SC then f*** him. Plain and simple. I like what he's done for the program this season but to leave after 1 yr would be a real d-bag move.
