This team needs to go on like a 12 game win streak to really get back into it. I'd like it to happen but it's just hard to see it right now. Guess we'll see what the team looks like with 3 days of practice.
We shot better tonight for longer than usual..effort is improving.. Dwight should be cleared next month. Bev comes back next week. Dmo probably at the end of the year. 8th seed is projected to be sub .500 record right now So how is the season over?
The Mavs got off to a hot start last year before reality(and Rondo) caught up with them. There's no way they'll keep up that pace. We're likely looking at the Warriors and Spurs in the WCF. The Clippers and Thunder are the only potential challengers since the Grizzlies aren't as good as last season and the Rockets may not even make the playoffs.
Negative Nancys! Rockets are only 3 games behind the 4th seed... with 68 games still remaining on the schedule.
The worst thing this team can do is finish 45-37. If the season is over, then let's tank all the way. Don't half-ass it.
Season isnt over till we are mathematically eliminated. Once everything starts clicking this team will be right back
The season isn't over, but the Rockets are digging themselves a huge hole. Don't look at the standings. Look at the schedule. They've had a ton of home games so far against patsies and lost most of them. They've dropped a game at Denver. What do you think is gonna happen when they have to start playing all the good teams in the West? And the East which is no longer a joke? What about when they have to go on long road trips to make up for the early home heavy schedule?
EXACTLY! Pull a Spurs. Adding Duncan to a team with David Robinson in his prime. We have a chance to add Ben Simmons to Harden in his prime.
We ain't getting Simmons. There are too many teams worse than us. The Spurs had the 3rd worst record that year, so they needed luck with the ping pong balls, but not that much luck. I'm not opposed to tanking at some point if the season does look like it's over, but we'd be doing it for maybe a top 7 pick, not Simmons.
In terms of winning a championship, yes. Will probably still make the playoffs, though. If it take the sting out, remember that GS is looking like your typical NBA destiny team with a probable 99.99% chance of winning back to back championships. The Rockets best effort would probably not have been enough to beat them four out of seven. I think, other than McHale getting canned, the biggest fallout will be Dwight leaving, assuming he opts out. I don't see the Rockets giving him a max extension if he can't even get them into the playoffs.
Yep. Wasted weekend watching both their games. Sick today on couch - not sure if it's caused by the way we're playing. But damn could've done with a win to make me feel better.
We're a five game winning streak - something that happens all the time in the NBA - away from getting back to above .500.
I guess the beatings from gs, and all the effort getting there just to get curry swishing 3's from outside like a video game is enought to throw away a whole season. Only problem is when you dont do you job you get fired lol
But this is the easy part of the schedule. The only thing to play for now is a better chance in the lottery.
