Not sure if there's any replays.

He talked about a few things:
-Said that the $3m represents UH's commitment to playing high-level football. He's not going to worry about his next contract until this season is over though.
-Said that P5 distinction is just a political title, and the AAC from top to bottom is as good as any other conference.
-When asked about the #19 ranking and if he felt snubbed, he said that he doesn't really know since a ranking right now is meaningless when there's still games left to play. Rankings right now just give people stuff to talk about during the week.
-He said he knew we could be pretty good once he saw Greg Ward throw the football in Spring practices. He had avoided game tape on all the players since he wanted to go into the team with an open mind.

USF is absolutely destroying Cincy right now. It's 51-6 with 9 minutes left in the third. They've gotten hot. Hopefully Temple wins one of their next two.

The interesting thing is that Tom Herman could completely alter the city of Houston if he can somehow entrench a brand of football in Houston. Obviously it will be hard to do. But it seems like the size of the city, the quality of football, and the general passion for it could be a perfect storm at the right time. And that would be a big lift for Houston and the fans. Not sure it's possible. But it sure seems like it could be.

Yeah, his interview didn't leave me feeling so great. But I guess we'll see how this process rolls out over the next few weeks. I don't think South Carolina is that great of a destination to coach at. I think the UH Board is probably also willing to go above the $3m mark.

Most contract extensions get handled in early to mid December, so Herman's response came as no surprise.

Not necessarily. If we win AAC it gives him more leverage though.

Tilman asked for special permission from the BOR to personally handle negotiations. It would be extremely embarrassing for him if he didn't retain CTH. For that reason, I'm very optimistic.

I wouldn't expect CTH to immediately accept. Even if he wanted to, his agent would not allow him to take the initial offer. He has no reason to, he has all the leverage right now. 3 million is the floor at this point, if we lose all our remaining games, he can accept that offer. But if we get into a NY6 Bowl, he'll get much more.

And I'm sure he's going to make sure his assistants get taken care of too.

    No.

I suppose he could leave but it won't be because of his comments.

Most contracts are handled December or later.

WHo is the next best G5 team, Navy? So essentially if we win out, we'll be in?

Pretty much. Win out and you're in. Same goes for Navy.

I was very worried the loss would bump us to ESPN2, this is great news!

Glad to know we aren't trying to learn how to defend the triple option from scratch on a shortened week.

RB/WR Tyreik Gray left the team. Sucks because he was going to be a good one. Not a huge loss because we will be loaded at rb and wr.
