5 shots is terrible! they need to get him at lest 10 a game, and dwight needs to demand the ball more. this team is so out of whack top to bottom. they were doing good in the first half with dwight.
I'm convinced Dwight doesn't want the ball. No top center would go this long without taking 15 plus shots.
he gets deep position like once or twice a game. The majority he goes to the other block when a guard gets it or he's pushed out almost to the three point line. If he was getting deep position consistently he would be getting 15 shots at least or at least getting to the line 12 times.
i'm watching Dwight very closely. There are times he is missed in the paint but it doesn't happen more than one or two times in a game. He is catching it at the high post and setting screens then going to the weak side more than posting up. And when he does post up, he might get a shot up 1 out of 5 times.
Dwight needs to set better screens and roll harder to the rim. Rolling to the rim without setting a screen is pointless because the defenders don't have to make a choice..... Dwight in the post is a very low percentage play, Dwight rolling to the rim is very high percentage. Why isn't he doing it better?
i know he's had more than 5 touches, shots taken doesnt tell everything but he's still not getting enoutgh. this is huge, even with all their struggles, if they were more consistent weith getting dwight in the offense they'd have 2-3 more wins..if he played every game
He needs more shots, but because of increased pick and roll usage, not post-ups (unless there's a mouse in the house situation).
Trade Dwight for Durant... Okc might do it since they don't wanna risk getting nothing for KD after he dips.
Dwight is the strongest guy out there 95 percent of the time. Everyone is a mouse in the house. He is just not good enough in the post for 25 mill. I let him walk at the end of the year. Develop Dmo and Capella.
In the post, being stronger doesn't matter, guys will just fall down and it's an offensive foul. Taller guys and any defenders who are just decent give him problems. Guys significantly smaller and slower than him he can beat easily and that should be exploited. Also when he gets really deep position it's automatic. If he didn't always look a bad step from a season ending injury I'd want to keep him, but with the team looking like it is now might as well develop Capela/DMo.
Who has he beaten easily in a game since ROLO in the trailblazers series almost three years ago now? Seriously. When is the last time Howard has taken over a game?
Uh, well tonight he beat that JaMychal Green guy numerous times. And got deep position on Gasol and beat him a couple times. Taken over in a game? Probably the 20/20 game against the Clippers. But that's pretty irrelevant, since I never suggested that he should or would "take over" games.
Numerous times? He had what 4 field goals? so maybe twice? He is capable of leading the league in rebounding-- No question about that, but right now, the way our offense is struggling, we need him to be more of a threat in the post, and I think the reason why we continue to struggle is because he is NO LONGER a threat in the post.
Thats cause he doesnt get passed the ball when he hits his spot. Dude has 9 points in the 2nd and didnt see the ball consistently the rest of the way. Not to say just throw it too him over and over but run a play for 4-5 times for him to get some good looks
Twice for field goals and one or two other times where he got fouled. He's just not explosive enough to be a post threat, he is not skilled. He was solid in the post when he was more athletic but now he's only effective in certain matchups. He's declined, nothing else to say. DMo will help.
He most certainly should get far more touches than he currently does, post-ups or not. We make almost ZERO effort to get him the ball when he has deep position, which is often.
