Could be a blessing in disguise. Ty Lawson as a spot up shooter is a waste of his talent, and not only that but our bench does seem to need a playmaker; otherwise Brew will just run from end to end all game with the ball.
Morey said to ESPN that Lawson "has been excellent for us" and "Ty has not been playing good" in less than a week span.
Ok that's a fair point. But the piece that is supposedly suppose to put you over the top does not come off the bench.
So what are the implications of this? If he gets probation, will he still be playing with us during that time? Guesses on suspension duration that is to come?
Do we get compensation if he gets arrested and can't play since it happened before he was on the team?
Being on probation won't affect his ability to play professional basketball. It's his career. His case was pled down to a DWAI so he will likely aviod any jail time unless the judge wants to make an example out of him statement. He will likely get public service, a fine, court-ordered treatment, and because he refused the breadth test his license will be suspended for 1 year. That's the law in Colorado. Ain't no pleading that one. Luckily for him, his other offense was in the State of California; otherwise he'd probably be looking at a 2-year license revocation, a hefty fine, and some jail time, plus 1-2 years of probation to monitor his court-ordered treatment.
Ok since noone can give a definite answer to when the suspension should be expected based on this news, I searched on Monroe. Monroe had a DUI on February 2014. He pleaded guilty on 23 April. He was suspended without pay on the first two games of the next season. However in 23 April the Pistons' season was already over, so the NBA suspended him as soon as they could. (They waited to announce it tho after the FA period, nice of them). Jason Richardson had a DUI in december 2008 pleaded guilty in the summer and got suspended for the first two games of the new season. Pj Tucker was suspended 3 games in August for pleading guilty. They also had suspended someone for pleading no contest. Devin Ebanks in 2013. In other words it seems to me the suspension hammer will fall shortly as soon as he pleaded guilty.
That and being behind basketwise from a month in rehab and generally having a depressing summer. Let's don't forget that these are elite athletes are fine tuned machines akin to race cars. Any break in their routine can throw off their game. Just look what a summer of partying and high rolling did for Harden's game.
Sure it can. Why does it matter when he contributes, so long as he contributes? Manu came off the bench and I think it's fair to say Duncan (as good as he is/was) and Parker weren't going to win all those championships without all three.
I find Lawson to be guilty... of being innocent. You're out of order, I'm out of tots, order me a drink. Case dismissed.
