This is just dumb. We have Harden, Lawson and Dwight without jeopardizing the future. Even if they aren't playing that well right now what do you think another GM could have without high draft picks and losing after the Tmac/Yao era?

When the Morey haters come out it just seems so ridiculous.

    Lowe and Thorpe podcast. Listen.
    What a roasting.
Harden is "maybe" an All star candidate not an MVP candidate. He spend his summer only building his brand and not training in contrast with Curry. Harden didnt' come to camp in NBA shape. Harden has always been a huge DIVA and if OKC had kept him then Durant would already be in another team even if they are friends.
Dwight Howard shouldn't be blamed at all right now.
It's the way they are playing that is dispiriting not the losses alone.

He also hires the head coach right?

Have I not said several times that if it takes Morey fired to get McHale out he has to go too?

Building the roster is one thing. Morey should stop at that point.

he doesn't have to interfere and try and preach his Moreyball and style of play thinking he has solved basketball. Preach layups and 3's when the roster has horrible 3 point shooters

He could build a roster with 5 all stars but if he hires a coach like McHale, then there is no point. So Morey will have to be responsible

It's a bad 10 game stretch for novices and those without basketball knowledge like you. Others like me were 100% sure that Rockets WILL NEVER EVER win a championship with McFail

Morey's job is to surround his selected players w/ the right staff to lead the players. Something shield have been done a long time ago. Going back to last season there were already issues. No syst has been put in place & nobody wants to hurt anyone's feelings. Time is up. In order to be successful at anything, there has to be order & discipline.

All of what you said are things I have said multiple times before. I agree wholeheartedly.

I hate how he has not gotten any elite shooters for a team that he wants to shoot 3's. I hate how he has said things like coaching "only accounts for about 5 wins" publicly. Definitely didn't like him publicly campaigning for things like Harden for MVP and McHale for COY and such. No need to do that.

Doesn't mean he should be fired though. He's proven he can upgrade a roster in a significant way. He has much work still left to do, and this next coaching hire will probably be one of the most important decisions in his tenure, but I say give him a chance to do it before calling for his head. As many have said...Morey wouldn't last long on the market. He'd get snatched up by dozens of teams wanting a GM upgrade.

He should be. He has found some gems and have stuck gold twice. He also made a few mistakes and have some lost opportunities (draft). The biggest problem I have of him are
    1- McHale
2- Not getting defensive minded players

On 2, with a few exceptions, he seems to favor offensive skills over defense all the time. I think it has skewed the Rockets rosters. I too think O is a bit more important than D, but only slightly. The old saying is still true in my book - D win.

I never said I wanted Morey fired right now.

I'll give him time to get a good coach and not interfere with basketball that the coach wants to run.

All I am saying is with all these years of no results and wasting the primes of two players with a garbage coach and his stupid Moreyball, it's right he is on the hot seat and doesn't have a free pass.

I don't want Morey fired let me make that clear. But I do love les' attitude. He wants a ring, and he's not gonna stop until he gets it

If I were Les, I'd be mad too. $12M for 11 games on a head coach? WTF?

But that'd be a mistake for Les if he fire Morey.

He's the best gm in the league. Les is really upset right now, and rightfully so. But we need our gm to make this work.

Morey needs to hire someone that antagonizes his view. Until that happens it'll be a perpetual cycle.

Saying he has no results at all is silly. He's obviously significantly upgraded the team.

I agree, however, that he does not have a free pass, can't screw up this coaching hire, and can't completely interfere with said coach and his gameplan. If you want to emphasize 3's and layups, sure, just make sure to hire a coach that can capably institute an offense to where we don't live and die by that.

Agreed. There is no way anyone can blame McHale more than Morey. Morey knew exactly what he was doing when he brought in McHale. McHale recruited Dwight Howard for us. After that moment, he has done nothing to benefit this team.
