No, we're not trading Harden. I don't think we should. I just hope he figures it out one day -- that to be great and win a ring you pretty much have to commit 100% to that goal. Dwight has the same problem too. You knew it when Kobe and Dwight couldn't get along. He jokes around too much, "no big deal". It's our whole team. We don't have the edge the great teams do. We let teams come back on us constantly, all last year until Harden bailed us out. But it starts at the top. You wonder why a third star didn't join our team, I mean. Who wants to actually play with Harden and Dwight right now??
I suspect it's going to be pretty common knowledge pretty quickly in terms why things went south with McHale. just a hunch. http://nba.nbcsports.com/2015/11/18/report-rockets-players-frustrated-by-james-hardens-play-and-aloofness/
Lebron on losing to pistons and 8-3 recorded = pissef off Harden after 4-7 and getting ass handed to him and benched vs Boston = we will get it together one day
There's no way Harden is traded? Really?? So if smh Harden never picks up his effort level and gets better in defence than what he is right now, the worst defensive starter in the whole league, then he won't get traded? Is the franchise married to him? I didn't know. Who cares about Anthony Davis? This is the Rockets fans forum not the Pelicans forum. If you want to discuss in detail about how much Davis has dissapointed in the ripe old age of 22 with being injured already twice then go to the Dish or teh Pelicans forum.
ouch, Fran Blinebury has let James and Dwight have it with both barrels: http://www.nba.com/2015/news/features/fran_blinebury/11/18/kevin-mchale-takes-the-fall-for-team-failing-to-meet-high-expectations/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt6b
The problem here is Khloe Kardashian. She is the source cause for all of the problems with James Harden and by extension the Houston Rockets. Get rid of her and the problems with this team can quickly be resolved. Did none of you guys ever see "The Natural" starring Robert Redford? The same thing happened there. He played a superstar athlete, who was awesome until he started hooking up with Kim Basinger's character. Then everything went to hell. As soon as he dumped her, his awesomeness returned. This is the solution. End the relationship between James Harden and Khloe Kardashian and the Rockets will be back to life in the fast lane. Case closed.
This is a little crazy, if you consider with a just a little bit of defensive effort, and a team and scheme around him that works... EVEN with PBev and DMo injured, the Rockets got close, and lost to what seems to be a team currently in a historical stretch of play regarding offensive and defensive efficiency. That said... ON THE WHOLE, I ABSOLUTELY agree with moving on from players. DM himself has noted how hard it is to land that star. Well, I know one thing for sure... it's infinitely harder to do when you don't have "equal" asset to trade in return. When your star becomes disgruntled, you get less in return. When your star just walks, or you never got one, it can take years to get back on track. IF.. and a big IF, you feel pretty convinced that for whatever reason it won't work with your squad, then use that asset and move him. All that said, the thing is, there really is no equal value available out there. And none of the up and comers are good enough to bet on... I'd love to get my hands on the Celtics crazy stash of picks, and I suspect the Celtics would happily trade them for Harden, but that's not equal value. Heck, getting back Isiah Thomas, Jared Sullinger, Avery Bradley, the Nets unprotected pick this year the Celtics own, the Mavs and TWolves first round picks they own, their own first round pick, and their right to swap with the Nets in 2017 still seems like a big risk...
You'll never get anywhere with someone giving as little of an effort as James. You can tout the star stuff all you want...but if you're not hungry and its CLEAR AS DAY you don't want it...you're essentially dragging on the inevitable. Basically like it was with T-Mac. He needs to wake the **** up soon.
Right... this is why I was saying if you came to that conclusion, you'd want to come to it soon and I am in favor of getting value while you can. That said, while it appears effort related, I've seen other superstars, including those with multiple rings, seem to have "effort" issues at times. Lebron, Kobe... heck, Hakeem. Tony Parker goes through effort ruts, and that's with Pop. His effort will look better when he starts playing better. He'll start playing better when there is more and better structure. The narrative that McHale is the scapegoat here, while partly true, also completely dismisses the obvious. McHale has VERY LITTLE structure as a coach, and is a players coach that expects them to go out and just make it work. Harden is not a player that thrives from a "winning" perspective in that scenario. It may ultimately give him the most control of the team, or best stats... but again, EVEN THE BEST PLAYERS EVER require a coach that knows exactly how to pull the strings, and actually be the f'ing leader, and provide structure, and a coaching staff that helps implement that structure. We've known McHale's faults for a while. One can hope JB Bickerstaff can make everyone more accountable, but I frankly don't see how. To the point of this conversation, who are you possibly going to get that is as good as Harden, that doesn't ALSO require the same player-coach dynamic?
A caller on local radio made a good point. Harden may have flipped on McHale for the Game 6 benching. Rockets won and Harden still mad. Hard to see this guy being a #1 on a champion, but time will tell.
Brian T. Smith Brian T. Smith – Verified account @ChronBrianSmith #Rockets met with James Harden. Made it clear he must make more of an effort on defense. 5:19 PM - 18 Nov 2015
I don't even enjoy watching him and his arm throwing tactics to draw fouls. His ball hogging might get him in the top of the NBA in points, but you won't see his name on any topic % shooting anything but free throws from arm flailing.
This board is full of emotional babies. Get it together. This guy was voted MVP by the players last year. Release him? Trade him? Some of you idiots aren't fit being males in this world.
