Exactly! I agree! I don't think ISO ball is Mchale's fault. I think Harden goes rouge the moment he gets the ball. I've seen the ball move and wonder where it has been all game.
Les needs to have a seat. He did what he needed to do by firing mchale. Firing morley would be more r****ded than extending mchale in the first place. Les needs a snickers, he's being a diva now.
There's at least 15 teams that would happily hire DM as their next GM. There aren't a ton of teams I see eagerly going after McHale. Which is why Morey won't be fired. That said, he clearly has bungled the coaching thing... and it doesn't matter how much talent he puts together, if he can't find someone to at least point the ship in the right direction, then it could be a fundamental flaw and ultimately require a change... but not right now or in the near future.
Sure, have Morey fired. Then what? Who are you going to replace him with? Someone who can continuously comes out of trades and deals on the positive end? Morey will be snatched up in a heart beat I bet if Les every makes the stupid decision to fire him. We've all known for awhile that McHale probably wasn't the best coach for this team. Right now I see the Rockets like I view how Dallas used to be before Rick Carlise. They were a great offensive team but never totally bought into playing defense. Luckily for the Rockets James Harden is only in the beginning of his prime and not near the end like Dirk was. Getting the team to buy into playing defense collectively is going to be interesting but also getting a healthy team back would definitely go along way.
Winning championships in the NBA requires so much luck. Morey's really done well with the hand he's been dealt. Hakeem Olajuwons/Michael Jordans don't just grow on trees. If Morey gets kicked, that's a reactionary, misguided decision.
How many teams do you think would dump their GMs right now for Morey? I say all but a few. That is why I don't want to see him go.
Not that I don't appreciate everything Morey has done for this team, which is a lot, but does this mean we might be able to shop around for a coach that doesn't have to follow a strict philosophy of 700 three-pointer attempts per game? Morey can stay, but I'd sure like to ditch that strategy.
I hope this is not True. I will be angry if hè gets fired. Although I would like to see lessen 3 point attempts.
This is more of a just holding Morey accountable. Over the years he's gotten really arrogant and talked the talk with his twitter nonsense and whatnot.
Think of it from Morey's perspective: What are the reasons to stay in Houston?? a.) I can get a job anywhere I want. b.) I don't have to deal with a disgruntled owner. Maybe Morey just leaves.
Morey got us Harden, Dwight, Lawson (for literally nothing)..He drafted countless contributors... He obviously agreed mchale wasnt cutting it after signing him to an extension.. In Morey We Trust
I'm all for checkin' your employees when they start to get a big head. I agree, Morey has been talking real reckless. Make no mistake though, Morey has done a very good job. If you think anyone else could have done such a good job after inheriting the corpses of Yao and Tmac you're kidding yourself. Stay humble, Morey.
