The big difference is that they play team defense.

The perfect candidate to replace Maury is already out there and available. His name is Steve Patterson. Unlike Maury, Patterson has experience building a championship team. He gained that experience working for your Houston Rockets.

Les is not some tech millionaire that thinks $12 million is couch change.

I'm sure the extension and firing of McHale is the biggest reason.

This is interesting. Les isn't kidding around.

I do think that Morey has a good chance or retaining his job for the longterm with a turnaround here. What I will say is that Dec 15 can't come quick enough for Morey when new contracts can be traded.

Who, and where, and for whom... that's a good question, but I have a feeling that some unlikely folks could be moved around. Ty, Ariza, Bev, and especially Brewer will probably be heavily shopped ASAP.

Could Howard, or even Harden be moved.... I have no idea, but I would say Harden would be the last man standing. I think Dwight getting moved is a higher possibility, but who knows... the T-Wolves offer KAT & Wiggins and who knows.

You dont' have to fire him. I'm sure you can look into trading him and another team pay his contract. Coaches have been traded.
It's just that the vast majority of GMs are not worth a damn trading for. And those who are, teams dont want to get rid of. (except Masai because the owner was an idiot and let him expire).
    Morey does.
I would give a protected first rounder from the Bucks for Morey without even blinking twice.

He extended Mchale a year ago, now he had to fire him. He's for sure angry about it, but only would contemplate to fire him under an unlikely disaster.

Morey is a great GM, he's a bad Co-Coach. Hire a great coach keep Morey away from them and we'd be good.

You need a duo, like Buford and Pop. Both buy into each other, both know their limits, they are synergistic. Myers and Kerr now too. There's not a lot of those in the league.

When I say keep Morey away I just mean let them devise a strategy that works based on the players we have. Morey's been doing things backwards. He knows how to get the players he needs to just get a real coach and leave the strategy to the basketball minds.
