with apologies to DD, but Les has said "if they don't respond and play hard they're not going to stay here." So . . .
I can EASILY see the Rockets outright releasing Harden in the next week if things don't turn around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe. But he'll have worn out his welcome here. Short leash, if he misbehaves again, Les will make the call, not Morey. I think that's the message. It'll not be a purely basketball decision, but for principle. Les can spot a faker and he won't be taken for a fool.
Although I feel Harden did this on purpose, he isn't going anywhere. Every team would probably want to trade for him.
Harden got us 4 wins and Western Conference player of the week. The other 7 are on the Rockets more than Harden. Not saying Harden has been good or consistent, but he isn't the issue.
Why not? If Harden continues to play like a rich mans Jr smith why wouldn't les shop him? Say you could get Wall or Griffin you definitely have to at least think about it.
The weakness of the second unit, poor rotations on defense, inconsistent shooting, Dwight getting beat out by scrubs on the boards, injuries, and the mess that is Ty Lawson all rank higher on the list than Harden does.
when your best player plays defense the way he does, that is a bigger priority than anything else. that just cannot be the case if you're trying to win a title. it will never happen as long as that doesn't change
Thank God for sound reasoning. Harden is a premier talent that any team would be overwhelmingly happy to have. He's been inconsistent this season, but he's definitely not the key problem. I can't believe some folks are suggesting we trade him for unproven players. Our problems can be fixed with better coaching and maybe minor moves. But Harden is a piece we have to have in order to compete.
and where is your "mchale has failed us" argument? why dont you do a poll, then? list all your choices of our failure this season: 1) harden's play on defense; 2) iso's on offense; 3) weakness of second unit; 4) dwight getting beat on boards; 5) injuries; 6) ty lawson 7) mchale ask our fellow cf's, which of the above attributes to a miserable 4-7 record the most...
you are kidding yourself if you don't think Harden has been a significant problem thus far this season
