Well, this is kind of surprising that it happened this early, but not all that unexpected that it happened. I remarked several times over the last week or so, it looked to me like the players were TRYING to get the coach fired.. then seeing the Rox losing by 30 to the Celtics, at home, I said, 'this is the sort of thing that gets people fired.' Even Lance said it yesterday morning.. I always thought the players really loved McHale, but there must have been something going on behind the scenes, I don't know, but it sure looked like the whole bunch of them just flat-out turned on him. At this point, I don't even know what they are going to do.. Brooks, or Thibs.. personally I would rather have Thibs and then find a really good offensive-minded coach to be an assistant. SMH and we were all so excited for the start of the season too... sigh...
With all the buzz around Finch, especially as the cause of Adelman leaving... has anyone even heard the guy talk? Seems he just sits on the bench doing nothing. And over the years it was always Sampson or Bickerstaff that spowe with the media (eg interviews after the first half). I actually thought Finch was a made-up name like they use for telemarketing purposes. I think JB is a good enough guy. But I really hope they make the interim position really interim, and bring someone in from the outside (read: Thibs, or JVG, Ron Adams of GSW, or even Mo Cheeks or Avery Johnson).
Why did they cancel shootaround? We are in a 4 loss streak. Wouldn't hurt the players to PRACTICE MORE and also ponder what their lack of effort caused. I am very opposed to this. Exactly. People need to understand that there are different kind of coaches and Mchale is not the kind to bring you to a championship. He is a A or B phase coach not C.
I cant believe people are talking about getting rid of Harden, our most talented player by a mile, in favor of keeping a mediocre coach. McHale may not be 100% responsible for our underachieving, the players are also at fault, but firing him is the right move, he needed to go! he had a very talented team and he was not able to make the most of it.

btw, I thought McHale was a mediocre at best coach... but I agree, some of this is on Moooorey. There are roster problems (PF, PG), questionable draft picks, and the bench isn't anywhere as deep as people here think.

McHale's problem was his adjustments (or lack thereof) during the game. He didn't even want to play DMO until DMO asked for a trade. Our rookies sit and rot on the bench regardless of how the other players play. It really did hurt to watch this team lose by 20+ in the first three games and not play much better after. The players just haven't played well. How many layups can one team miss on a nightly basis and win games? Lack of any semblance of defense other than Capela, Howard and Ariza. The rest of the team has sucked.
