its not pretty basketball but honestly you always give yourself a chance to win when the defense is at a high level. plenty of pros and cons.

Correct... which is why he wouldn't be hired in the first place. He wouldn't hire him and then tell him how to coach.

He would hire a coach whose coaching style aligns with his own philosophy.

Morey is a GM, not a coach. The Rockets need a coach right now.

IMO, Morey should build the roster and work with the coach to incorporate "Moreyball" into the coach's philosophy.

Morey is a brilliant mind, but not a brilliant basketball mind.

Morey would not hire a coach whose coaching style is the complete opposite of his own philosophy.

Morey built the team with a certain style of basketball in mind.

And Tom Thibodeau also would be hard-headed to work with because he'd want different players and they would never see eye to eye on which direction the team should go and which players to get based on their differing philosophies.

It wouldn't work unless one of them gives in to the other. It's similar to Lionel Hollins not getting along in Memphis.

I think if Les walks in tomorrow and tells him to fire McHale and do what it takes to get Thibs and don't mess it up, he would probably do it.

No. It is not overblown. He is not a good coach in offence.

His most glaring weakness is in game adjustments. He never ever makes them.
In last seasons playoffs he made some very bad mistakes like leaving Kirk Hinrich and Noah for an offensive possesion to win a game (ofc it failled).

He also does not play young players until they are good in defence which can take years and overplays some washed up done veterans like Kirk.

Every coach makes mistakes. Remember when Pop took out Duncan in the finals and Miami got the offensive boards leading to Ray Allens 3? But you're right, Thibs offense needs work. However, at least he has a system in place on defense instead of this pick up ball D we run. Our offense is not some world beater right now either. Its pretty terrible. At least we improve, hopefully significantly, on the defensive side of the ball.

Yea the 24-second offense really clashes with Morey.

...or Morey would just resign and find some other team where he can imprint moreyball... maybe Golden State?

Harden's play is so apathetic lately that getting McHale replaced with Thibs almost seems his goal.

Still wonder if his girlfriend's situation (nursing Odom along while still dating Harden) has just really jacked up his brain.

Whatever the case, I don't know if Thibs would straighten him out, but it's clear that summer 2014 and the USA Basketball coaches put some fire in Harden's ass. Loafing, eating, and humping his way through Summer 2015 ("I just took time off from basketball") has led to........what we're getting now.

Wasn't everyone in Chicago happy to see Thibs leave?

But Thibs mistakes are well documented and are repeated year after year.
He can make adjustments in a series AFTER a game for the next never ever during the game. That's a pretty big weakness. (ofc I am not saying that Mchale is a better coach).

There are three kind of coaches.
A)rebuilding-developmental coach. Tank commander. His main focus is development of the young players.
B)Coach that instills an identity. Usually defence and motivation. Takes a team from the stage of rebuilding to outside of contending.
    C) Championship contender coach. Coach that is good in in game adjustments, x and os motivation and gets his team from good to great.

Now some coaches can be two or three categories but Thibs is not in the third category. He is the B coach.
Brad Stevens who coaches the Celtics is B-C category and it shows from his end of game plays and his x and os.

The problem is what we're doing on offense isn't working. Morey should be open to change
