All rockets fans know McHale is an incompetent coach, I don't believe Morey and Le$ don't know that. There is something we don't know.
What is funny is that every night you see clear indictments of Mchale's incompetence and you still have people defending him. We had people saying "Why is he not playing Thortnton" for the first two games. Then people would defend him "What would Thornton do?". So Thornton plays well when he plays him in game 3, those same people are like "Well hindsight is 20/20". No dude we said it during those first two games not after. Then tonight no Thornton. We are down by 27 Mchale finally plays our second best scorer, lol. Low and behold we get back in the game but have no time left. So even with hindsight he's is still a proven idiot. To put the cherry on top he is quoted as saying he is trying to see what works. You think sitting your second best scorer in favor of guy who has been stinking it up is gonna work?? Really? You can't make this stuff up. Players are human they are gonna be cold sometimes but if your coach is just an idiot man when you go cold you don't have a chance.
and money-in-the-mattress les woke up, and went back to sleeping like a baby on his mattress still full of money :grin:
Even if they did fire him today, usually these kinds of announcements are made in the middle of the day, not at the crack of dawn. McHale needs to be fired a week ago, but I have a terrible feeling Les being a cheapass who's inexplicably enamored with the guy and Morey being an arrogant know-it-all who refuses to accept the importance of a quality head coach and the futility of his offensive system will hold off in vain and hope this thing fixes itself by the end of the month.
I can believe he's not fired yet. Morey & Les definitely don't seem like a duo that's 100% committed to winning Championships. What I can't believe is there are people still defending him. Outsiders I can understand but fans that have watched his incompetence for 4 years continue to absolve him of all blame and put it on the players particularly Harden is mind-boggling. Is this the fandom equivalent of battered wife syndrome or something because we all saw the wonders a coaching change did for the Warriors last year & Mark Jackson is 2x the coach McHale is.
You all know it's not goint to happen. Seems like Lawson will be sacrificed and we will oficially come back to the ISO Harden offense. Morey brought Lawson to avoid that... Anyway, when you overcome a crisis like that you come out fortified; I bet for a high-very high level in a few months. What I really fear is the conformism. We have gotten that low that people can be OK with a decent level, and this team was suposed to compete with the Warriors, Spurs & company. I fear Morey chesting out at a new fools gold moment. And of course McHale there, forever.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if they dealt Lawson. And I guarantee he'll thrive wherever he goes and the Rockets will barely improve if at all. Lawson isn't the reason our offense is all ISO, guys can't get good looks(or make them when they do), and our defense is non-existent. He's also not the reason we seem to look completely unprepared in every game.
Yup, Lawson is the real deal. The system is broken, and we all know where Harden isoball takes us. (13 turnovers and no where)
I don't know. Get Tom Tibbs in here, Elston Turner, Mike D’Antoni. I just don't know. This thing is sinking fast. Times like these are when you have to double down and say "Trust the System". Unfortunately it appears as though the Rockets don't seem to have one of those at the moment. I was not in the sky is falling crowd before. But it really seems like the writing is on the wall.
