This^ We can definitely forget about Kevin Durant if we keep this up. Hell Dwight might opt out.

Now I see why Josh Smith preferred to go to the Clippers.

He might opt out? Dwight is gone if we're a lottery team. Hell, he may skip town if we're a lower seeded first round knockout. He already left LA who finished 7th and got swept by the Spurs. Right now, that's looking like a best case scenario for the Rockets' end to the season.

Morey and Les better look at Dwight's departure from LA as a cautionary tale. They've never recovered from that offseason. Yes, Kobe and Nash's injuries and a weak roster around them certainly played a role. But when Dwight left and they were unable to lure any quality free agents to replace him, they've been one of the worst teams in the NBA ever since.

James Harden when he is locked in can carry a team to the playoffs, he did it without dwight in 2013

I should just stop responding but before I head out I have to say that's BS. I could give two sh$&'s about being right. Two weeks ago and probably two games ago I stand by my word that the Rockets shouldn't fire their coach at that time because they had a chance to turn it around. A week later and several key losses later I'm allowed to NOT stay dug in and assess a situation as a current event. I don't have to be forced into an election vote at one time that I have to swear by through every situation.

And you'll never read this part of the post but I said it time and time again that I'm not a McHale fan and wish they would have surveyed their options more this past summer. But you don't want to hear that.

Just like Basketballhollic you need a villian to paint yourself against. Heaven forbid we have a normal friendly respectful conversation. You need fire and blood to feel cathartic relief from the pain the Rockets are putting you through. I get it. Enjoy your thread back and have fun arguing with someone else you paint yourself against.

Yeah, wonderful. We'll be the 8th seed and get bounced by Golden State every year. And if we don't sneak in, we'll be the 9th seed and wind up with the 14th pick. At least til 2018 when Harden leaves.

Part of the problem with LA though was nobody wants to play with Kobe. But you are right. Third time I'm saying this I'v e never seen fans boo our team at Toyota Center before we usually arent those types of fans but this team deserved it. It's not all Mchale but it is Mchale and we need someone now who the players will respond to. I guess we'll see in the next couple of days what they do.

Kobe will be gone soon. LA will attract a big name free agent over the next couple summers. Maybe two of them. They're too big of a market and too big of a franchise to continue to strike out.

The Rockets don't have that kind of prestige. They got very lucky with the trade for Harden and the timing was perfect(and the situation in LA was chaotic) to convince Dwight to sign here. If this season goes up in flames because management sits back and just assumes(or hopes) things fix themselves, they're gonna doom this franchise for years to come barring a very lucky bounce of the ping pong balls.

I can definitely see them getting Simmons. Kobe will be gone and they will get a great free agent but it took them a handful of years to rebuild. I don't want to be in that situation. As genius as Morey is, he really stunk it up with coaching choice. I guess if Harden is playing like he was last year I understand you keep the guy but geez after Portland? No excuse.

I don't think firing McHale will change much. Someone like Thibs doesn't fit the Rockets present roster. These players are not the soldiers that Thibs is used to work with. Look what happened to the Pelicans after a "brilliant" idea of getting rid of Monty. Dwight will opt out anyway and Harden will demand trade. The Rockets need something more creative.

I think the idea is that those players weren't soldiers Thibs helped make them into that. Mike Dunleavy and Kyle Korver come to mind. Kirk Hinrich as well.

McHale reminds me of Gary Kubiak

his p***y, clueless attitude rubs off on the whole team. This team doesn't have a clear leader who will hold teammates responsible so we need a coach who will be.

Morey put aside your stubbornness hire THIBS

I'm starting to think that Mchale has something on Morey. If Mchale was coaching any other team he would have been fired a very long time ago. I've never seen someone paid millions to look so loss at what they're getting paid to do.

It's the Dwight curse look at Orlando. Just like the Lakers they haven't been back to the playoffs yet.
