I think that this season has the potential to be the catalyst for our program. This generation of students is bringing it to every game, and every alum that I've talked to while tailgating seems to be showing greater support than ever. This isn't just an observation from the Memphis game; the fact that TDECU had over 30,000 in attendance during the rainy games is extremely promising. I remembering going to games during the Case era, and the Rob would be lucky to get that many on a clear night.

P5 conferences and television networks are definitely taking account of this. And from my time creeping on other fan forums, I know A&M and UT are as well. This isn't the time to let up. Pretty much what I want to say is.. buy your Navy tickets, come early, and stay late. DO NOT LEAVE AFTER THE THIRD QUARTER.

Also, I tailgate in the architecture parking lot. If you're in the area, come find me, and I'll pour you a shot :)

i found this from aggie fans

my fear is that UH offers Herman $3mil, he stays for another year or two and next thing you know, UH is sucking up all our big recruits, we start to lose the houston market, UH is consistently ranked in the top 25 and it starts to hurt us. If you can't see that coming with the current state of UH football in contrast to A&M football, dark times may be ahead.

No way we're letting coach go. We let Sumlin go without putting much of a fight. We won't do that again. If we haven't learned from our mistake and do every single thing we can--"we" meaning UH leadership, students, and, probably most importantly, alumni--then we might as well not even pretend to aspire to elite status.

If Herman leaves after this year, we'll be a persistent waypoint on ambitious coaches careers. Never a destination.

But he won't leave. He'll build us up then head to the NFL. Hopefully, in the same city.

Herman to me is doing a lot more than what Sumlin did. Tom is trying to get the school, city involved. The whole Htowntakeover, James Harden, JJ Watt appearances, him trying to get Beyonce to show up lol. He's definitely (to me) is here to bring more than just wins, but to get the entire city to support Cougars Football

    Agreed.

But it could also be a huge PR/resume move. He can tell other schools he'll not only change their program but he will change their city.

Probably why they're thinking of putting the UH - Navy game on ABC

I'm skeptical of this. Link? And what do you mean by close? I don't see Saturday sports cable ratings out yet. They usually get released on Tuesdays.

If UH and Navy both take care of business this weekend the game will be on ABC, if one or both teams lose, the game will be on ESPN2.

I'm checking the 506 forum and a lot of them are saying ABC is highly possible. They have the game going on at 11am Friday.

ESPN radio in Chicago said the same thing. They were discussing UH and how the football team is having a rebirth but the structure is there for the program to be good long term. Said Houston and areas around seem to be buying Herman.

    Local TV numbers.

    Houston Nielsens: OU-BU, Ch13, 4.9; Bama-MSt, Ch11, 4.1; Mem-UH, ESPN2, 3.9; Ark-LSU, ESPN, 2.4; WCar-A&M, ESPNU, 1.5; Tx-WVa, ESPNU, 1.9.

Was hoping for an even closer draw but I'll take it.

One of the highest rated espn2 games this year.

As a student, I'd love for that to happen. I'm just skeptical that ESPN2 viewership of that game (stats should come out tomorrow) will be close to the viewership of OU Baylor game on ABC, which is 5.47 million viewers. For example, UH Vandy got 392,000 viewers on ESPN2 two weeks ago on Halloween. Last week's ESPN2 game of Navy Memphis got 653,000 viewers. http://sportstvratings.com/michigan...tv-ratings-for-saturday-november-7-2015/3925/

So I'd be really happy if UH Memphis tops 1 million viewers considering the ESPN2 game for consecutive weeks had less than 1.1 million viewers TOTAL combined. But there's a big difference between that and um, 5.47 million. There's a structural disadvantage there, so I'm not arguing against UH potentially being a good draw on ABC. That said, I just hate lies and misinformation. I don't think the poster made it up, but someone else surely did. Hey, maybe I'm wrong. I'd love to be shocked here. Let's wait until the numbers come out tomorrow.

Also, "ratings" can be misinterpreted. Are we talking about viewership totals or certain demographics? Are the shares from total cable viewers, broadcast, or both? They're usually judged separately. Cable TV viewership rarely beats out broadcast, unless it's ESPN or The Walking Dead or something like that.

More than a week before the game, and it's already sold out

Hopefully it results in a win! Crowd was huge last game.

I don't think the Aggies have anything to worry about. They are our states only representative in the SEC, and are on national TV every week. They will get their recruits.

UT is the team that could be hurt. They are already struggling, and it could get worse.

^ I'd imagine Baylor and TCU would lose ground sooner than UT or A&M
