He's a solid player, similar to Beverley but a little more under control on D. Sometimes Bev just spazs out. Beverley and KJ for Bradley Or Beverley and Brewer for Bradley and Jerekbo would be decent trades imo.
why would Boston do any of those deals? They are full of guards and pfs and have too few wings. Bradley Turner and some Jerebko is all they have. They have no need for Beverley at all, he's useless to them and even hurts their capspace next season. And KJ is not worth Bradley because he can't shoot. Ainge last January refused to trade Bradley for a first round pick. We don't know what pick that was but I suspect Memphis' or OKC's (protected ofc).
... What? You said too few wings, but both of the trades I suggested gave them a wing in return? Beverley hurts their cap next season? How? Bradley is on a more expensive contact for 2 more seasons, Beverley's contract is 3 more seasons but he's on a good deal. Either way neither effect them next season. Bradley is really isn't much better then Beverley, I'd imagine beverley and a young wing like KJ or Dekker would be a decent offer. Brewer is more valuable then Jerekbo, Jerekbo is more of a stretch 4 while Brewer can play the SG and SF spots. So both trade idea helps facilitate giving them a wing player. And of course Bradley is worth more then a late first to a playoff contender, they need players to contribute. You say they would have no use for Beverley but the very reason they didn't trade Bradley for a pick is because they can't just dump a starter for nobody, Beverley would fill his role nicely and they would add a needed wing.
[I totally forgot Crowder sorry] Bradley plays the 2 and some 3- in their super small lineups- both in defence and in offence. Beverley can't - in offence. They already have their defensive pg of the future in Smart. Beverley hurts their capspace because they will have five guards as far I know, maybe more -didn't pay much attention to everyone they waived. (Rozier, Smart, IT, RJ Hunter...Beverley? ). It hurts their capspace because paying money for a wing like Bradley is much better at this market where finding 3+D wings is extremely hard, than paying money for a fifth guard. Esp as with their offseason moves they have positioned themselves to spend money in offseason. 60 millions I think they will have. Dekker and KJ are worthless for them because they are in win now mode with one foot and trying to develop in D-League their young players on the other foot. http://basketball.realgm.com/wireta...Balance-Player-Development-With-Competing-Now They will have either to change rapidly directions and be in development mode or they can't do such trades since they won't have time to develop from almost nothing again KJ and Dekker. - on top of Rozier and RJ. Hunter and possibly four other first round picks. The Celtics are smh projected to win near 50 games this year even if they dont' they will be almost for sure in the playoffs. Playoff teams even in the east are not eager to trade players who can win now like Bradley for KJ or Dekker. And Brewer in Stevens system? Where tough defence and discipline (good defence not gambling ) is required? Yeah..not sure about that. Now if they decide to change and embrace fully rebuilding maybe that's possible though they can find much better taker for Bradley and get a mid first round pick which they can try again to package with the Dallas and Memphis one and move up in the lottery. Also the reason that Ainge refused was mostly because he liked Bradley too much and believed in his further potential and improvement. I can find a link I think for this too.
James Harden for Boogie Cousins. Who says no? I am 100% sure that we can never win a championship with Harden as our best player. Trade for Boogie and then recruit KD. Howard Cousins Durant Ariza Lawson Game over Honestly it would take that kind of lineup to beat the current golden state warriors
Only one problem here and a major one. KD is not coming to H-town if Harden is not here. 100% sure of this. Harden is our only chance of KD to Houston.
Off Topic Sorta. If we did traded for Rubio before the season started we would we still be this bad? Honestly believing Rubio would still do more for this team then Ty. What are some thoughts on that? Before the season started it seemed the board was split on Rubio/Ty.
Fournier and Jones are both in the same situation with contracts. A 3rd string pf for a better rookie prospect (under contract for the next 3 yrs.) plus a pick if needed to close the deal. IMO, Jones would be a good fit with the Magic and in the EC. --> when Vac comes back.
Yes I know fournier is in also a contract year and if he manages to keep it up he will get paid more than Jones. In fact even if he doesn't keep it up he will because of positional need.. I think he will get 15 per easilly. If he can keep up his shooting then 16-17 even max if someone gets desperate (Knicks). These are his stats this year so far: PPG 18.9 RPG 4.1 APG 2.6 SPG 1.2 3P% 0.377 That's why he should have been extended because they would pay him Ross money and then he would be a great asset. Jones is a terrible fit in Orlando. Vucevic is a center that is known for his bad defence and they have their best prospect Gordon as pf and then there is Harris at sf who is slow laterally and a bad defender. So the pf needs to be a shotblocker who can also guard in the perimeter to switch with Harris and Gordon looks to be exactly that. He's only 20 years old too. He shoudl get all the time he can so why trade for Jones who also needs to get paid next year? But Orlando also can't keep Fournier. They have Hezonja, Oladipo and Payton and already pay a lot of money to Harris. (Vucevic's contract is a real steal tho). So a trade will happen with them. Someone will have to go because they have too much young talent. My bet is that the one traded will be Harris but we will see. I don't know why Houston would be ineterested to trade for Fournier tho. He is a bad to bellow average defender, tho he has shown some signs of improvement keep in mind that is SKILES. With Mchale here he will be back to bad defender. AND he will get paid more than Jones.
Fournier is just another player on the wing. Does nothing outstanding. Is mediocre to below average on most everything. And he burns possessions. He has more turnovers than offensive rebounds and steals. When you combine that with the rest of his lackluster shooting percentages and metrics....don't want. Just another non-difference making player that will probably make some good jack over the next 4-5 years just taking up space on a roster but not really contributing significantly to winning.
He may indeed develop. Or....he may not develop. It's less than 50% that he will significantly develop past where he's at right now. But he's in his 4th season. If he continues this one like he has his first three then you're faced with letting him walk or matching a contract offer that, at best, represents only fair value and at worst represents a potential boat anchor deal if he DOES NOT develop, like the vast majority of players in his class do. You don't pay players to develop outside their rookie contracts. He has no trade value. Just like Terrence.
I'd rather have Fournier coming off the bench for us than Jones (even though they're different positions) Fournier can actually shoot and he'd be great for this system
He may be better than Terrence. But he's a 2/3 and we're loaded up with those guys. We need a 4/5 or a 3/4 that can shoot and create much more than we need another swingman.
