This is why I was advocating for Shane. Shane had his own patented defensive style and he knows the Adelman Princeton offense. We are already bad why not take a chance on a youngster. Otherwise I would want Thibs.

Jesus H Christ. Why don't people realize that Josh signed to LA FOR LESS MONEY! HE LEFT! Morey offered him 2.5 mil and josh sign to LA for 1.5 mil. How many times does this need to be said?!

Not only that but the team was 20-7 before Smith arrived last season. It's not like they were lottobound and he saved them. He was a valuable piece, but the idea that he's the reason they're struggling this badly through the first 10 games is laughable.

Josh said he left because he was waiting on the Rockets. They were treating him like he wasn't a priority and as if Mcdaniels was our next big signing we're not even playing him, lol.

He was waiting? The offer was right there all he had to do was sign. At lease as far as I know.

Harden has been disappointing, for sure, but he is not the main culprit. Look at the Warriors, Spurs, Hawks or the Cavs.. they all somehow manage to win even when their superstars struggle time to time, whereas the currents rockets are basically 'live by Harden, die by Harden.' It is the coach's job to put in place a well-structured system where your team's record does not fluctuate wildly based upon a single player's performance. IDK why some people cannot see that. This 1-1 streetball + jacking up 3s is not going to work in the long run, and if McHale does not dramatically change the current state of affairs, he's gotta go.

fire mchale right now? idk. not sure that will cure most of our ills.

otoh, since rudy t time and on, mchale is obviously the lowest ranked hc of this team. i am fine with letting him go - only if we have a good, proven replacement in sight. (and thibs in my mind isnt one of these names.)

I don't know everything either. It had something to do with communications and the fact he didn't have clear role. You would think after his performance in the playoffs the Rockets would start the guy, I guess not.

To win consistency, you need bigs, and we do not have any, especially when Howard is not on the floor. Morey needs to sign somebody taller 6-6 because that is one of our biggest problems. You can't run ,if you can't rebound to start the fast break. Everybody is asked to play out of their natural position. Ariza is worn out already from trying to guard guys like Blake Griffin and Bosh! The other night, 6-2 Thornton had to guard 6-10 Galinari. Guys are frustrated because of it! McHale once said, he wanted some guys that he doesn't have to look down at. People look at Golden State and think they win because of small ball; however Golden State has a very big team, and is a great rebounding team.

McHale needs to be fired. No doubt at this point.

But the players also need to play well and hit shots. It's truly a team-wide disaster right now.

I have asked this question a couple of times and I have seen a thread on it...

But who do we hire? Seriously who do we hire?

Please don't say Tibs or JVG... no way they but up with Morey telling them how to run the offense... On that account no good coach is going to come here and be handcuffed on what offense to run.

Right now Morey is the Jerry Jones of basketball.. the same way that Jerry can't get a good coach is the same way the rockets want get a good coach. Both of those guys want total coach in the front office and on the sideline.

So again.. who do you get?

If you guys think Josh Smith would have saved this team from their current state, you are all on crack.

That is the problem, they would have to wait till end of season. There is no time right now to do a proper coach search during the season. They can still go with Bickerstaff if they really want to let McHale go.

Can you trade for a coach? Say Capella/Jones for Kerr/Adams?

But who do they get at the end of the season? No good coach is going to be told how to run their offense.. So literally the rockets would be getting another puppet like Mchale... The same as Jerry is doing in Dallas..

Need to find a button pusher who can motivate players to party less and practice more.
