Can't watch the game, but did he play off the ball more? Lawson had 11 assists and that's what prompted me to ask.

What changed besides the Rockets shooting better, Howards defense?

Little things from the bench. More defensive minded and hustle plays. Dwight being in the game makes a huge difference for the inside of the paint. Capela tries but he is still young. Harden also started to get on a grove. They need more games together. Brewer, Thorton, and Lawson took some stress off Harden in the third quarter and allowed him to create better shot selections. The only bad part of the game was the last two possessions having harden shoot a three. Needs to be a play. They could have easily went into overtime and lost.

Anthony Davis had another stinker today... team is 0-4. But Harden is the only superstar that has these kind of games consistently right? :p

Lawson was given (or decided to take on) a more active role and attacked more. The defense was having to account for both Lawson and Harden, rather than just one at a time, and that was something that was lacking in the first 3 games.

Also...the Rockets finally made some shots and played some key defense. That always helps.

Both Harden and Lawson played their games. Lawson was the main facilitator and didn't hesitate to take his shots and attack the rim.

Harden found his stroke and started cooking them jokers up.

Kerr put that basketball system in place that luke walton is currently using, come on bro.. stop playing dumb. Kerr even talks to the warriors during some half-times. Kerr's fingerprints all over that team, if not for Kerr coaching, Stephanie Curry would be averaging 22ppg on 46 fg% shooting 47% from 3... its KERR, KERR

stop listening to morey.. coaching does matter

Harden used to own Curry when Marc Jackson was coaching the warriors

Its not about quiting on Harden. Its about recognizing that Harden is mailing it in defensively and giving nearly zero effort, focus and intensity.

Its about recognizing that Harden is basically a turnstile on defense, letting his man waltz by him to the rim. Or that Harden loses his man continuously on defense to back cuts... not once or twice but three times to Devin Harris alone in tonights game.

Great players are great not only because of their skill, talent and athletic abilities, they are also great due to their mentality, focus and EFFORT, the latter three of which Harden has completely neglected much of this season and for much of his career.

IMO I view Harden much as I viewed Carmelo Anthony, both could be amazing talents offensively and carry a team, but it often require they had full control of the ball and gave little effort defensively.
