We don't know that. It may take a lot of money and some control over personnel moves to lure someone like JVG or Thibs in mid-season, but it's foolish to just assume they wouldn't jump at the opportunity. This is a loaded roster. It's way better than what JVG had to work with in any of his 4 seasons with the Rockets a decade ago and it's arguably as good if not better than what Thibs had in all his years in Chicago.
No need to explain to that guy he still thinks 10 games is "mid-season" lol. Also the whole point of view of changing coaches now would make this worse is just stupid. We are at rock bottom, to say otherwise is delusional.
Thibs yells at his team when they are winning in blowout games McHale sits there and scratches his head when his team is GETTING blown out
Exactly. This team has losses this season to the Nets, Nuggets, Mavericks (without their 3 best players), and Heat. They have given up 100 points or more in every single game this season. They didn't lose 3 straight games once all of last year. They've done it twice already. They didn't have 6 losses until Dec 18 last year. They're already there. There is no way you can keep McHale.
Should see a red ticker on bottom of ESPN any second now Breaking News: Houston Rockets have fired Head Coach Kevin Mchale!
While I think McHale needs to go it just isn't the way the Rockets do things, unless McHale falls on his own sword he will coach out the season, it is as simple as that.
Like I've said repeatedly, if McHale is still the head coach when they tip off the next game, then Les and Morey have essentially written off the season. Maybe not in their minds since they'll have deluded themselves into thinking things will magically turn themselves around. But we're 10 games in. This is no longer opening night jitters or a brief cold streak for a few players. The Rockets legitimately suck, particularly at the defensive end.
The league has figured how to contain the Rockets. If Harden explodes, we win.. if Harden doesn't bail the Rockets out, McHale should. Draw plays, defensive schemes that will stop the opposite team. McHale is great at player development but it's frustrating to watch him act like he can coach.
I whole heartedly agree I just think they are both to stubborn for the teams own good. I think in their minds they think the team will be fine and turn it around. Firing McHale would affect Morey over inflated ego imo something he isn't willing to do.
