Then we have inside options, Singleton, White, Duffy and Reed Is a gamble, but a good gamble as we have guys ready or almost ready.
I usually agree with a lot of your takes and posts, but you've got me a little bewildered here. I'm not sure what you're debating. Obviously Colin Moran is not going to play 1B or 3B for the Astros in 2016. Luhnow was giving an interview in which he listed all 1B and 3B possibilities next year for the Astros. He listed all possibilities. I found it interesting that he didn't mention Duffy, especially since he saw time with the club in September. Possibly he is not part of the equation, but for sure Colin Moran is not. It was no surprise that Moran was not mentioned by Luhnow when talking roster spots for 2016.
#1 - Leaving off Duffy is probably nothing more than an oversight #2 - The order probably didn't mean much #3 - Moran is certainly a possibility for 3B in 2016. BTW, Moran actually appeared in 4 AAA games last season.
#1 - I think Jeff Luhnow is smart enough and knows his personnel well enough to not make an oversight when discussing possibilities for the Astros 25 man roster. #2 - The order was very specific. He listed all 1B possibilities first and then listed the 3B possibilities. He began both lists with the 2015 starters. #3 - I strongly disagree with you, unless you're thinking he will play 3B for a team othetr than the Astros.
#1 - Anybody can skip over a name when listing a bunch of different guys. #2 - Valbuena was the starting 3B last season, but was after Lowrie #3 - Definitely for the Astros. I have no idea why you think Moran wouldn't be with the Astros in 2016. Luhnow didn't trade for Moran because he didn't like him.
#1 - Sure. But, not Jeff Luhnow when discussing the Astros 25 man roster. #2 - You know very well that Lowrie and Valbuena platooned at 3B and were both starters. #3 I think he will be with the Astros organization. He will not be on the major league roster, though. He will most likely be in Fresno.
I'm sure Jeff Luhnow would forget while being asked a question and giving a quick answer. He wouldn't forget if he was taking his time to discuss the situation. Valbuena started all 6 postseason games. Lowrie started 0. Sure they platooned, but Valbuena would certainly be considered the starter.

I would love to nab Chapman, but the more I think about it, the more I see K-Rod as a more likely move. Maybe Britton? Will be interesting.
Idk all those guys seem not likely for 2016 for the Padres at least. Two AA prospects in Asuaje (23 yrs. 11th round '13, .251/.334/.708 ops but hit .315/.395 in single A) and Margot (20 yrs. .276/.324 39 SB in A/AA this year), Guerra (Sally league A ball shortstop, small but hit 15 HR this yr. .279/.329) and Logan Allen (8th round this year, pitched lights out in rookie leagues but only 1start in A ball). Astros have a lot of valuable, proven prospects available. Luhnow needs to work some magic.
