The problem is that the root cause is not IS, but Islam itself. If IS didn't exist, you still have Al Qaeda, Hamas, Boko Haram, the Taliban, Hezbollah, etc. etc. etc.

This is interesting. I believe I mentioned to the board that I was actually walking through the Munich central train station (after being "over-served" at the Augustiner Keller) when the first trains of refugees arrived. On one hand I understand the humanitarian concern of these people -- especially when you see the small children -- but on the other hand the need to prevent the bad apples from causing problems is also very important. The best solution would be to get them all jobs, educated, and integrated into society quickly, but that has proven not to be how this typically works out in Europe. In fact the opposite.

It sounds like the "Refugees Welcome" crowd is becoming like the American liberal crowd in the sense that you must be "bigoted or racist" to have a different opinion than them. That fascism is sweeping the US right now, and regrettably it sounds like it's present in Germany, also.

It's really not Islam itself, rather the problem is a radical interpretation of that religion. You can have radical interpretations of any religion or widespread strong belief and you'd get the same.

It's political Islam. It's different from other religions, even from its historical roots.

I would think they expect these refugees are checked out before they're allowed in but inevitably some will slip through regardless. France seems to have its own special brew of Islamic crazies though. Personally I'd redirect those refugees back to the Middle East. Muslim countries should bear the brunt of the refugees.

Agree, but IS is just on another different level. Never has there been a terrorist group so organized and well-funded. Taliban and Al Qaeda terrorist networks were mostly scarce and unorganized, Europe has been relatively safe.

IS structures and workings are sadly extremely organized and plan ahead, they frighten me 100x more than previous groups.

And this refugee crisis made it 100x worse, everything is playing into their hands.

Here in Germany they basically let everyone in uncontrolled in the first months, most didn't even have passports. It's an exteme safety concern and completely out of control.

It's absolutely terrible what has happened. Things are going to be much worse than ever for a whole lot of people.

This only reinforces my belief that violence is never the answer.

The coalition forces in Iraq (US, UK, etc) had them in check until Obama decided he wanted to add "ended the Iraq war" to his pathetically short list of accomplishments. Needless to say it didn't work out well. Then he even made fun of ISIS early on, calling them a "Junior Varsity squad". What a dumbass
