McHale's brain has never, ever been in this.

I can't stand it anymore quite honestly.

We cannot waste away such a talented roster with such a bad coach. Too many people don't realize how big of a difference coaching makes.

McHale is a great guy and a great players coach, but that doesn't cut it in the NBA. Look at GSW with Mark Jackson vs. Steve Kerr.

We overachieved last year because Harden had an unreal season for the ages in which he single handily led us to the 2 seed in the west. This year so far, he hasn't done that, but honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he did again, seeing as last year we had some bad early losses/near losses, and I am sure we will be fine, but that doesn't mean McHale will get it done in the end. A good coach will put us over the edge.

Luckily, with Harden here, we have a big window. But we need change now.

Maybe the Rockets need a Phil Jackson type? A coach who can push Harden's buttons and motivate him to get more practice and rest.

He looks so seriously lost. Not quite like Garth in "Wayne's World" when Wayne was kicked off the show and the guy in the monitoring booth says about Garth's freeze, "You ever see that movie [Scanners] where that guy's head explodes?"

    Just tired and doesn't-have-the-heart-for-it lost.

McHale looks hopeless and defeated in this video. Isn't looking like a guy who can lead this team anywhere at this point. Just looks like the beginning of the end.

We don't want average. Just like I stated before the game yesterday. Harden will go cold sometimes we need to be better organized and prepared for when that happens. McHale is definitely below average BTW.

? this is a flawed roster. same holes as last season. need to to trade for rebounding at the 4 and defense on the wing & 4. a bit more bball iq on the floor and ft shooting ability would be nice too.

lawson is not only trying to fit his game next to the beard but prove he's still a starter in this league right now.

Seconded, and I'm being serious. Battier is all about the analytics and already has good chemistry with Morey. I mean, their duo karaoke is self-explanatory.

Yes, there are flaws, but there is no question that they are deep. They need an upgrade at the 4, but there is so much talent still. And instead of playing to strengths/taking advantage of those talents. McHale rolls out a pick up style offense and a horrendous defense.

Minor, MINOR, adjustments on offense would make a harden Lawson backcourt absolutely lethal on offense. But there is nothing there. There is no game plan, for the second year in a row its just rely on Harden to do it all for you. That is unacceptable.

Hey, McHale. I got a scorching hot take for you....

If you're worried about rebounding...don't play small ball for 48 minutes.

That would be great but I don't think Morey and Les will do it.

Not sure it's flawed at all. On paper it's one of the most talented and deep rosters in the league. You have a proven scorer (Harden), a defensive/rebounding anchor (Howard), a first-rate distributor (Lawson), the 3 and D glue guy (Ariza), a sparkplug bench scorer (Thornton, I understand he's starting now but that can't last forever), a lock down perimeter defender (Beverley), talented young players (Harrell, McDaniels, Capela) the only glaring hole is at the 4, where Jones has been underwhelming and injury-prone and D Mo hasn't played.

But the issue is that a good coach figures out how to get Lawson to play with Harden (for a quarter against OKC he had it all figured out), how to maximize production at the 4 with the pieces he has (Free Montrezl!), how to get his players to start playing better individual and team defense, how to get his team focused and to take games seriously, how to put away garbage teams like the Nets and the Nuggets. McHale's laissez-faire attitude doesn't address any of these. "Figure it out" works when you have a bunch of proven vets like Phil Jackson's teams and you have a track record of success. But don't forget they also had a highly structured offense and defense - they had a template for success. Where is our template? Spread pick and roll until you drop? When it works it's blazingly beautiful, and when it doesn't it's jaw-droppingly awful.

It might be time to part ways with McHale. I don't think he elevates our players, he enables them to play the level they are currently at. Adelman elevated our players. Van Gundy did as well (with a thread-bare, flawed roster). Same with Rudy T, despite being a "player's coach". We have a long line of coaching excellence, people who have built a framework to allow the player's to excel despite adversity. McHale has been gift-wrapped an immensely talented roster - despite the hole at 4 - and has managed to break even, and that only due to two superhuman games by Harden. The time to make a change may not be now, but if this trend persists, the West is too stacked to wait too long. You can't make a coaching change at mid-season and expect post-season success.

    McHale is lost on rotations

You cannot play T Jones with Dwight or Capela, it kills our floor space and ability to drive and kick for James and Ty. Jones has to be that super small center. McFail continues to coach as if this was the 80's with him, bird, and Parrish as the frontline. That concept doesn't work, we need floor spacing at all times..

In addition, pairing jones with Dwight, Pat, Tjones, and Brewer (who's in shooting slump) is down right ignorant. No outside scoring available at all.

Come on McFail, get your rotations right.

But but it's not the coach. Players just need to play harder. Coaching is fine. Coaches don't win you or lose you games. McHale is the winningest coach in Rockets history and took the team to WCF.

    Enough if this BULL****

This ****er has got to go. I don't give a **** about what the apologists and delusional no knowledge folks here have to say (and they are plenty of them) about mid season firing. THey'll just hang on to McHale's nuts all the way. Just **** off please.
