It was one time where Dwight was battling 3 Nets and all Houston player were mid court cherry picking, want a rebound when you are small, get in there and battle. Capela and Howard should not play together (and Capela lost a few easy rebounds as well) Harrell is the option over TJ now but he is a space killer with absolutely no other offensive game than dunk, but if we are counting with Harrell to save this Houston we are screw. Hopefully we get a healthy Dmo who bring size, scoring, spacing a lot of ball movement. But the reality is when Harden is not interested in the game we always lose. I'm getting tired of Harden bipolar effort and them people blaming the coach.
I love how this board blows up, **** happens, ****ing rockets beat LAC and OKC two teams that they're probably going to play in playoffs (well decent chance of one)... You know the 72-10 Bulls also lost to some **** team and I'm sure the GSWs will probably do the same, it's the nba. Now if the Rockets suck in month or 2 sure... But the small amount of time we got when things looked right definitely looked decent and that was with injuries, with a new pg it takes time. Nets were what 0 and 7?, they wanted it more. It's like some of you react like an nba team just lost to a middle school team, lol. It's a long season... I Bet if some of you were around during 2nd run would be doing same **** back then on the bbs. Don't get me wrong it sucks to lose, but I'd rather get it over with at the beginning and let the team gel so they're clicking in 10-20 games, rather than having meltdown at the end.
Too much Beverley and Jones in the 2nd half when they are rusty and not enough Thornton down the stretch. How do you let a hot player like that sit for that long?
Yeah that's the good news. Other than GSW, the West has been a bit up and down. The Rockets are still right in the middle of that. Nevertheless, this loss still inexcusable.
Well it should be pretty clear by now that this is not a mature team. And if that's the case, you have 2 choices if you want to contend. Replace the players which ain't happening aside from maybe some of the bench guys being dealt. Or bring in a coach who'll act as a disciplinarian. A players coach is the worst thing for this team. It looks like these guys know they can do whatever the hell they want and McHale won't hold them accountable(well, unless they're arrested because of an expired credit card on their EZ Tag account).
We agree on Harden...but we also can't depend on one guy carrying us for every single game. But that's the thing, of course those 3 players are cherry picking. That's what they do, that's been their role for most of their careers as wings to go out and fill the lanes and run the break. It's their mentality, it's like you can't take a SG and put him at point. It's not his mentality to play that way. When you see Harden and Lawson create it's very different. Harden looks to score and will pass if he sees a better option while Lawson looks to pass and will score when there is no other option. That's the mentality difference between a SF and PF, or rather your ordinary SF and PF. Harrell's mentality had he been in would have been to get rebounds. It's in his job description. When you go small you give up rebounding. Playing Thornton at four works when everyone is hitting shots but that wasn't the case tonight. The case tonight is that there were a lot of rebounds to be had and we should have adjusted to that. Yeah, Harden could have exploded for 40 tonight and we would have won but we can't depend on that every night. The big reason the Warriors win with the consistency they do because even if Curry has a bad game everyone else just plays well.
James 8 of 22 from the field...I'm a Harden fan to the bone...and at some point James shoulda recognized to defer more to Thornton who was 9-15 tonight with 9 assists...just for starters. There were a number of times Harden didn't even look in his direction when Thornton was open for a shot....puzzling
This has nothing to do with clicking and gelling Losing to a bunch of bums at home is unacceptable. Its obvious these guys are not in the right frame of mind too many times this season - and thats due to bad coaching Chucking threes and being lazy defensively - all due to bad coaching\ Stupid rotations than don't make sense - bad coaching They are not going to"gel" till they get new coach
Well Harden just said all the reasons they lost like defense as blown assignments and he's right he did both of those
TJ and Brewer have looked like straight TRASH this year. Not going to win many games with Harden shooting 30% from the field. Him & Lawson were also trash tonight. In fact, the only guys who showed up were Thornton and Dwight. To be honest, I can't stand this team right now. Bev pisses me off with his idiotic fouls and his broken shot; Harden pisses me off with his idiotic decision making; Lawson pisses me off with his out of control offense; Dwight pisses me off because Dwight; and Brewer pisses me off because he reminds me of an uncoordinated giraffe who just swings his neck and arms around wildly. When we click, it's beautiful to watch, but all to often that requires beastly games fro Harden. When we will ever be a COHESIVE TEAM? That's COACHING.
What a ****ing embarrassment. You don't lose to the nets at home with your 2 best players healthy. I don't care who else is out there. **** effort and really just awful awful coaching and managing of minutes. I don't see Mchale as the guy that's going to get this team where it needs to go. The talent is there.
As usual. As it is said you let these scrub teams stay in a game and it won't be about your team playing down to their level. It'll be about how they are now playing better than you. Hitting shots they don't normally hit. That confidence is a real thing, anyone that plays basketball knows that confidence is a pretty big deal.
I like Lawson's responses especially when they asked him abiut that non call he said "we should have taken care of the game way before that happened"
Err. Not twice in the first 8 game. We really need DMO. What he brings "if he still has it" far outclasses jones. But yea. If harden has better things to do than worry about his job we won't go very far.
