Mchale is just too much of a pushover as a head coach. He instills no discipline to the team. This team needs a dictator like coach... someone like JVG.

can't u see we were outrebounded 60 to 40 and gave up 20 offensive boards? why wouldn't you want terry playing instead of harrell??? we need terry to clean the glass! circular motion with the terry cloth for the win!

I think Moreyball is part of the problem though. This ISO crap is killing them on nights when Harden doesn't have it going. You've got a really talented PG in Lawson who's been relegated to a spectator and occasional spot-up shooter in this offense. They're not running PnR's with Dwight. There's very little movement overall on the offensive end. Just a lot of standing around and waiting for Harden to do something. That's not gonna work.

I don't know if McHale is just following orders from Morey or if he's got free reign and is just a lousy X's and O's guy. But one way or another, they have to change this system. There's way too much talent to struggle this much to score(15 points in the 4th at home against the Nets?!).

And don't get me started on the defense. That's entirely on McHale.

    this is basically what happened,

people are gonna look back years from now at the 2015 season harden had and say it was a crime he wasnt given mvp.. he carried a bottom 2 head coach in kevin mchale to the wcf.. ive always wondered why the espn experts kept picking us to lose to dallas then to the clippers, IT WAS BECAUSE OF COACHING

Correct. The concept of taking high percentage shots is fine. The problem is not having a coach that has the X&Os and strategy to get the players those shots. The team is too reliant on James Harden to do everything.

Which players aren't playing hard? Someone sId Deight isn't, but I'm not seeing that?

I can see harden but he plays about the same every night. He's never been an energizer bunny like a Corey Brewer or Beverly.

    Is Ariza not playing hard?

Ty? To me Ty looks like he just has no place out there. No role. Not sure what to do.

For one we were too small tonight. 2, most nights it just looks like we are disorganized like we don't practice anything.

I mean, how many games is lack of effort supposedly going to be an issue...????

If it truly is an effort issue, mchale can't get these guys to play hard? These guys just stopped giving a damn? Are they out of shape?

Brewer and pat play hard every night but they haven't been all that good. Brewer is maybe the worst player in the league and he plays really hard.

I just don't believe effort is the core issue here. The team does not look prepared. They often look out of sync and confused. And I don't think the coach helps much with his in game rotations.

I just think the time has come. I think it's very apparent that this squad just needs some new direction from a different leader. Mchale is just not the guy.

Defense is effort + strategy. Ask Thib.

Great... Now I have to watch a lousy Mavs team beat the Clippers with great coaching. Cuban might not understand team chemistry, but he sure as heck understands how valuable a coach is. Tell you what, Morey - it's not "5 games".

I don't think Moreyball necessarily equates to Harden's heroball antics; I'm not sure if that's coming from Harden's ego or McHale but it needs to stop. We need to humble ourselves and play with a lot more ball movement and run more plays than a pick and roll with Howard and some other player or a Harden ISO.

I was just thinking the same thing. Clips got outcoached tonight. Carlisle trolled Doc with the hac a Deandre.

What? That's exactly what I said, and that is not what Moreyball is.

Moreyball is shot selection, not plays. It's McHale's job to design schemes and plays that lead to that proper shot selection, and he is failing miserably in that regard.

Once again...Moreyball is not the problem and never has been.

McHale must be fired. This was a coaching loss 100%.

I hope they lose every single game until they fire this clown. You're not going to win a championship playing this stupid playground style basketball.

Here's an idea Mchale. Instead of working "harder", how about you work smarter. Your offense is a complete and utter joke.

    Here's an idea for Morey.

The Rockets need a coaching Big-Three. With McHale as "Players' Coach", Rockets need to have JVG or Thibs as Defensive Head Coach. Promote Finch as Offensive Head Coach.

Defensive Head Coach will be the coach doing Xs and Os on the court.
