The Chuck Hayes, Luis Scola, Kyle Lowry Rockets team almost never loses these types of games. Granted they weren't good enough to beat the top teams on most nights, but they always came to play. At home, against East 0-7 team, rested ... no excuses.
So when Morey said a head coach is only worth about 5 wins to his team, did he mean in the first month of the season?
your beloved dmo would still be glued to the bench, if not for t.jones injury in philly. Mchale is not just a terrible coach, he can not recognize talent, and is terrible with rotations.. this dude had marcus thornton on the bench for the first 2 games of the season after a great preseason, and keeps giving corey brewer minutes
Hahah. It's so pathetic it's gotten to this point with McHale. I'm long past the point of being hurt by his ineptitude. I just laugh about it now because it's an actual joke. You definitely won't find another team who hopes to contends for a championship losing to two of the worst teams in the entire organisation. And by worst teams I mean handing one their first win of the season, and another which was lead by a rookie with more than 10 turnovers.
he's too big, gets too many boards. better to space the floor so you can take 34 3's instead. and make 8.
Harden didn't play well enough to bail Mchale out of his usual bad rotations and lack of offensive and defensive execution.
For the trillionth time...moreyball is not the problem. It has NEVER been the problem. Shooting layups, 3's, and free throws is not the problem. Lacking consistent plays or offensive schemes that lead to good looks is the problem. Not playing defense is the problem. Not having the slightest clue how to box out and rebound is the problem.
I hate the randomness of our rotation. Bev didn't play at all in the 1st half but he played in the 2nd. No montrezl but we added Terry back to the rotation. Weird.
Almost every possession that Harden isn't handling the ball, he literally just stands at the same spot.
THIS X 10000. We need an offense with player movement and ball movement, and a defense with an actual strategy. The offense needs to be designed to get us easy 3s, layups, and driving lanes. The defense needs to be designed with using our ability to pressure and trap players. We have some excellent defensive players totally out of position and lost(Ariza, Brewer, Dwight, Clint, Trez, and Bev).
We haven't even played 10 games yet this season and we have: 1) lost to two of the bottom five teams in the NBA.. AT HOME 2) barely managed an overtime win against a bottom 10 NBA team (at best) 3) blown a 21 point lead in the 3rd quarter and eventually lost by 20 points 4) gotten completely embarassed at home in a supposed WCF rematch let that sink in.. all in our first 8 games. I wanted McHale gone after we got upset by Portland. Last year we somehow managed to play good defense so I was fine. But now my opinion of McHale has never been lower. It's clear that we are unprepared for what should be easy wins. Idk how someone could possibly be that bad.
