I wonder how long mchale is going to keep doing this.. it's ridiculous.. we aren't the warriors we don't cause match up problems by doing this like they do..we are the rockets we need to play our game

Go back to watching Lin play, you weren't talking small ball when we won 4 straight games.

McHale is an idiot. Get abused by the boards, continues playing Ariza at the 4.

We don't rebound or defend well enough to play small ball.

If Dwight was the Orlando Dwight ... maybe. If we had a Drummond grabbing 20 boards a game, maybe. But we don't.

I just can't wait to see DMo back. The Rockets need to extend DMo and just trade Jones.

The Warriors can do it because Green has PF skills. We putting out Thornton and Harden who are 2s, Lawson is a 1 and Ariza is a 3. The lineup is fool's gold because Harden went off for three games (Thunder, Kings and Clippers) and an overtime game against the Magic should certainly not be counted as a positive example.

You need to lighten up. I've been in the Lin thread plenty of times to have fun at Tinman's expense, but I don't see that guy around.

Having said that, even when we won against inferior competition (or a Chris Paul less Clippers), we were being mostly outrebounded.

the difference is warriors small ball lineup can actually play defense and play in an actual nba offensive system

Wins against Kings, Magic (in OT), Clippers without Chris Paul, and against OKC when we had a fluke game with something like 18 steals and only 8 TOs.

Thornton has played playing so well that I guess McHale thinks that he deserves to be in the starting lineup...thus the small ball unit. We have a lot of talented smalls meanwhile our PFs are either injured or struggling.

It's fool's gold man. Harden had to go for 40+ to unconvincingly beat a Kings team that is imploding, and go for 46 to beat a Paul-less Clipper game where who knows what happens if Dwight is called for goaltending.

Play Clint more. We are getting killed on boards and got ripped open pretty badly.

Clint suffers the same problem as Dwight. Always skies for the huge swat, leaving the backside board always open for the opposing team, rather than being available to go for the rebound. Combine that with the rest of the team not having a clue how to box out or rebound themselves, and we get murdered on the glass...

The small lineup is great when our outside shots are falling. Otherwise, we just get beat up on the boards. I think the only time we were mediocre on the boards tonight were the few minutes Dwight and TJ played together. Go back to that and you sacrifice spacing, so I don't even know anymore.

Pretty weak showing for Capela tonight, as rebounding goes.

I've never been a Jones fan, he too deficient in too many important aspects. Harrell is making a ton of mistakes. We really don't have a good option at the 4 until Dmo gets back.

    You can't succeed without a capable 4.
