None of the stuff here have people actually been saying, except for maybe with Troy Daniels. Morey knows exactly what he is doing with RGV, its arguably the best farm system of any NBA team. I mean look at the progression of guys like Dmo, Capela, even Tjones and Morris. McDaniels will be fine, they wouldn't sign him to a 3 year deal if they didn't have plans for him.
Haha this is gold. Seems a bit weird timing though, even with Beverley & TJ back. Maybe Thornton has solidified that back up guard spot.
You either have a very short memory or you just have a selective one. Somehow you completely forgot the outcry here the last 2 seasons when people are knee jerking and crying for playing time for those players? Its the same for KJ, oh by the way, probably the same for many others too than the Rockets gave up such as T-rob and etc. This forum is all about knee jerk reactions and most of the posters here actually believed they are smarter than Mchale and Morey. Nothing new here.
Dekker probably benefits from the practice time at the NBA level right now more than he would in the D League. McDaniels is more seasoned and had practice time and playing time here last year. I suspect he is still higher in the ticking order than Dekker and will be called up when needed, this is just a matter of circumstance and getting him some PT.
It's his second year on a contending team. If he were still on the lowly 76ers team this year we would be salivating over trading for him because of the numbers he would be putting up. For now he just develops on the outside looking in, once he gets his shot down and gains more PT he will be the guy we traded Isaiah Canaan and a 2nd rounder for.
BTW, lets do a recap of the last couple season, couple seasons ago, Casspi is godlike and lights out in 7 preseason game and people are ready to crown him the great shooter the Rox will have for years to come. and then LOL. Last year Ariza came out of the gate on fire shooting 3s and people are saying this is the best signing ever in Rockets history but later when he cooled down and shooting the ball miserably, the same group of people also started to curse on him. Similar situation can be applied to Brewer and Thorton, they are backup NBA players for a reason, they will always have their up and downs. Especially for Brewer, people seems to forgot that the month before he traded to the Rockets, he was shooting under .200 on 3s and then he was amazing in the first month as a Rockets in shooting.
Brewer is a career 28% 3pt shooter and is shooting 14% this season KJ can't do any worse than that He is a better onball defender than brew just if not more athletic i guarantee he won't miss dunks I just dnt get mchale smh..
it will take a brewer injury to force mcfail to play kj, just like with the t.jones and dmo debacle last year mcfail cant identify talent
agreed mcfail needs to use his bench more we have one of the deepest teams including the rooks in the league he needs to use that depth instead of running harden ariza into the ground..if he did maybe there wouldn't be so many dam injuries.
You take too small of a number of clutchfans posters as the representative sample. Sure some people might have weird obsessions with players like Nick Johnson and Canaan, but as a whole people knew those players probably weren't going to amount to much. All people are saying here is that McDaniels should get a shot while Brewer is in this horrific slump, which doesn't seem unreasonable. Nobody is crowning him as anything, and at these points in their careers Brewer is superior. The only real argument here is why McDaniels got sent down instead of Dekker, and I think it has to do with Dekker's ability to play power forward, if any other freak injuries are to occur.
I think some time with RGV will actually do him some good. It is clear the guy needs to work on his game (shooting, decision making) and he will not get that time on the bench right now. Worked for T Jones and Dmo. They see him in practices everyday and know how his development is coming along. Yes, he has potential, but it needs time to develop and that is what RGV is for. Send him down for a stint and let him get his offense going and build up his confidence then bring him back up. Say what you will about Brewere right now, he is a proven vet and he makes plays and gets things going for us. Energy player. KJ is not ready to replace him at this point.
