I have not been paying much attention to Ben Carson, anything he says, or any of his supporters say, with good reason, other than for enough background to have a few laughs.

If that makes me a circular nut buster, good on you my friend.

 

I find him and Obama to be really interesting foils. They have a lot of parallels as intelligent black Americans running for President; they both had previously written books about themselves; both talked publicly on dangerous subjects like religion and racism; both rode a populist wave of sorts. But, it seems that at every pressure point where Carson has failed, Obama had succeeded. Nothing damaging came out of Obama's books. He handled hot-button topics in a rational and classy way. He deflected mudslinging with comparative ease. Obama highlights for Carson how Carson's failures aren't only due to prejudice for his race and/or religion. And Carson highlights what a hard road Obama had successfully navigated.

You do realize that Carson is retired and has assured his book sales among Christians and has earned a talk show on Fox or at least Pat Robertson's Christian Network whose name I don't feel like googling. He is set and may even have more staying power than Sarah Palin on that circuit.
