Which would be around / about the time we could make a trade with Brewer along with Tjones (having stashed DMo long enough to keep other teams from even thinking of asking for him)....
Mavs gave max to Wes Mathews while he had injured achilles. Teams will ask for DMo in every trade involving Rockets, I guarantee it.
Agree. He hasn't had any physical basketball contact or played against anyone (no full court 5 on 5) for what 8 or 9 months now. For him to come back practicing with the team for a little while then playing in actual games seems like a stretch to me.
I think it's Capela, who they're going to ask for. DMo, as good as he is offensively, still doesn't play as big as he is. Capela will be seen as more valuable.
I know you meant no harm, but it's just poop what you said. DMo doesn't play big? Sure, if you think he's a center. He's not. He's a man among boys at his true position. Doesn't play big my ass.
That's exactly what I'm saying, once he's cleared to practice I don't think it'll be very long at all before he's on the court.
I can't wait to see Thornton,DMO at the 5 spot,Harden,Ariza on the court at the same time and take your pick on the 5th player to install...could be scary
If you want to classify him as a PF, that's fine, but that doesn't make him shorter. His height is fixed, regardless of position, so I think he should be a better rebounder and shot blocker at 7 ft. Also lacks aggression at point blank range. His post game is exceptional, but that part of his game will always be limited next to Harden and with the rockets shooting so many threes. It's not like we're ever going to dump it to him and give him 20 FGA a game. I'm not sure any team would now, given the NBA's style.
oh ok....i doubt it though, as careful as they're being with his rehab, and even with Dwight's back to back situation. I think they'll drag it out and test him more carefully.
This. You don't just throw your investment back on the floor after months of rehab. It's not happening like that. The training camp "return date" was hopeful thinking. Still heard December.
Agreed! If the Rocket would have had D-Mo in the playoffs, they'd of at least taken Golden State to 7 games! D-Mo without a doubt was the best post defender the Rockets have. He might not put up NBA Mouth Salivating stats yet, but he is a legitimate force at both the 4 and the 5..... I think the Rockets have the best of both worlds, where they can go big or small at any point in time. Big line up: (DMo's and TJones 3 point shooting really work well here) Howard D-Mo T-Jones Ariza Harden Small Line up: (DMo's post defense would shine here, and he's got some great post moves too) D-Mo Ariza Thornton Harden Lawson
DMo will not be ready this season... He may be out there playing, but he want be ready.... DMo, may be ready by next season... Back injuries are no joke and they take a while to come back from. Especially for a big man..... Ask Howard how long it takes... T_Man
He'll be ok. Thankfully his game never relied on Athleticism. I'll give him about 10 games until his moves are polished again.
Looks like Beverley and TJones are back. I'm really curious to see what the starting lineup and rotation will be. Probably something like this: Lawson / Beverley Harden / Beverley Thornton / Brewer Ariza / TJones Howard / Capela This is why DMo is so critical to this team. You've got no shooting wings or bigs off the bench right now, so your choices are to give up spacing by playing TJones or give up defense by going small. When DMo gets back, you can have both both spacing and defense.
