I'm just providing some context. As far as Doc, I think he is overrated as a top coach, but I don't think you'd find many pundits or analysts who will think McHale and Doc occupy the same coaching plane.
It is conjecture. You have no idea what goes on behind the scenes, absolutely no clue but that doesn't stop folks like you and others from becoming 15 year high school gossip girls. Thornton? Please, there's a reason why he's been on like 5 different teams and was had for a very inexpensive price. He's being played now which is the real important part. Hopefully he can become a more consistent player on this Rocket's team as that consistency has eluded for most of his NBA career.
Exactly.... No matter if we win or lose people on this board complain about McHale.. We have no true PF and yet we have won our last 4 games and people still complain.. T_Man
mchale has done a great job without having a PF that can shoot. people were upset with him about not playing harel but they didn't understand SPACING with a PF that can stretch the defense, this team is a contender this is why hardens been playing better because he has the space to drive now its not all about Marcus... its about ariza being starting at PF also... if ariza is making his shots or not the spacing is there. the thing is however, we will need a PF who is bigger and can play D and (WHO WONT CLOG LANE) when howard and cappela are in. DMO could be the guy, but that takes away from his #1 strength get it done MOREY !!
Our offense is just up for grabs. I've seen this team get 20 point leads easily with amazing ball movement. Ive also seen them isolate sticky ball to death like last night's game. Which one is it?
You're right, I count 6 teams including the Rockets in 7 years. He blew up in Sacramento for 2-3 seasons before becoming a journeyman. I hope he can become a gunner again like in his early Kings days where he averaged 21 and 18ppg.
It's funny you are not realizing that you are doing the same thing you are accusing other people of. Actually people like you are responsible for the flame wars. Why? Because we are discussing Mchale and you discussing us, lol. It's silly. Stop worrying about people discussing a coach on a basketball forum and maybe discuss basketball yourself.
Then what? You used the incredible power of hindsight to say what McHale did wrong after the fact. I'm simply standing behind Morey's and the owner's decision to keep McHale and the current coaching staff. I'm standing by the folks who actually have the information needed to make a decision. We simply have no idea how much input and what role McHale takes in preparation relative to the other coaches. We simply have no idea what is being discussed on the bench among the coaches during the game. I will continue to point out ignorance. Don't be ignorant and you got nothing to worry about.
no, if you actually listen to the people you are calling 15 yr old girls you would know these are things we said during game one. You are not listening at all you and people like are so overwhelmingly controlled by being a homer that no one can say anything to critize Mchale. So now you have to adopt this silly policy that Mchale is never wrong and you have to go into denial when you end of being wrong.
Blah blah blah... I really wish this thread would die but it's pretty much become the new cyber thread. I'm not a huge McHale fan but I do think he sometimes is fine, especially with player relationships. However if you think Scott Brooks or whoever else is available will do better I just don't see it, now if some superstar coach was available sure it'd be great, but let's be honest it's not going to ****ing matter until McHale's contract expires... so I think we're stuck with him and this is just a fantasy thread.
I've clearly stated my "policy". When it is time to fire McHale, it will be done. You're putting words in my mouth and/or missed the entire point, I've never said or implied McHale is above criticism. Perhaps I just think your criticism just isn't that strong.
He's an average coach with an above average coaching staff, he's going to make mistakes. I guess I've just accepted the circumstances and put my trust into our front office to upgrade and make coaching changes as needed.
