Am i bad fan if i wish we lose so that we can get rid of mcfail? I don't want to ruin our standing tho....
He's actually been a better team defender this year. He's essentially playing PF on defense. **** your thread.
You guys always have to rationalize everything. Yes, hes great at scoring and creating. Doesnt mean it should allow him to day dream on defense. Damn, is it so hard to see that hes missing pick and roll assignments? He switched off to the ball with Thornton, leaving somebody wide open. Hes ball watching again, leaving his man to float to the corner 3 or an open baseline. Just re-watch the tape and know what the hell to look for. If you dont know what to look for, just dont comment. Simple.
He's conserving on D because he knows he'll have to carry the team with the other D missing a lot of time, again. D_
Harden's combined points and assist tonight where like 75 points... If he creates a 3rd of all of our points while getting boards and playing over 40 minutes I can see why he would be exhausted on defense, especially since our whole front court it out including defensive stud Howard. Go away haters.
I know everyone has a different take on this, losing for (x) purpose, but to ME, wanting your team to lose is as close to sacrilege as you can get! I can't get behind the idea of wanting my team to lose for ANY reason! Having said that, I'm on board regarding a coaching change! ... GO ROCKETS!!! ....... ....... .......
It is. Its also the same day we had a 20 point lead and watched it dwindle down to even. Not entirely Harens fault but he had some impact on it. I liken his points and assists to a pitchers count; how many of them were under duress? The answer is, not many. Haren cruised through this game offensively, giving him no reason not to play defense. Like I said before, stop rationalizing his offense to his defense. We are all witnesses to his ease of scoring and play making, it just doesnt give him the right to cruise through defense rotations.
He doesn't cruise through rotations if you were actually paying proper attention to him.. On the wide open McLemore 3, he had to cut off Koufos at the rim because it would've been a wide open dunk because of poor positioning on Capela's part. He was letting Rondo shoot jumpers because thats what we want. Yeah there were some moments he took bad angles on rotations, but what NBA player doesn't suffer from those? If you think he's been cruising on rotations, you need to pay better attention
They cut it to 10. Did you miss the time he missed the rotation at the top of the key when he and Thornton were on the same man and left a guy wide open for a jumper? Or when his man was on the wing and slid to the corner for an open jumper or had a wide open baseline drive? I love the beard right as much as the next man but his defense is appalling, downright laughable this year. All this, against the powerhouse of the Sac-Town kings. Please stop rationalizing.
I re watched the last 8 minutes of the game to specifically note his defense... So miscommunication is terrible defense, him cutting off a man thats rolling wide open to the rim to stop a free dunk is rationalizing... Defensive mistakes happen in an NBA game... Quit trying so desperately hard to try to blame him because of his previous issues. Ariza made just as many defensive mistakes this game.
How the hell do you "cruise" to 16 free throw attempts and 13 assists? It means if Harden actually plays O with EFFORT, HOLY moly thats 60 points and, 18 boards and 25 assists!
Defensive miscommunication happens more often than not with him. There have been many times where he loses his man and confuses his helper as to who should switch off with who or who to remain with their guy. Communication is definitely a factor especially when there is none. Being a leader and saying that you have taken the next step on defense has to show on game tape and so far it hasnt. He has missed plenty of assignments and I dont have the pleasure of re-watching game tape so I cant go back and recall.
