Wouldn't the Stepien Rule prevent them from doing that? I think the first pick they can offer is in 2020... and Brooklyn should really stop getting rid of all their picks. Brad Miller in the Rockets? Feels like AGES ago to me.
What does Rose's perfomance has to do with how dirty is their FO? Have you heard of any other long tenured GM who went to punch the coach? Badmouthing whoever they dont want through the press in smearing campaigns for years a d years. Thats one of the reasons Im a Bulls hater. Players come and go but GarPax dont the dirt stays. Im not sure but I think if they do a a pick swap, chicago gets the better of theirs or bostons/ brooklyn it isnt against the steppien.
putting up 28, 8, and 7 in the playoffs with a broken back and a bum knee is quitting??? reminder: T-Mac is #11 all-time in career nba playoff PER.
With the kind of individual talent he had, it absolutely was. He could have done so, much, more. As a player and a leader.
he led us to a 22 game win streak. how grateful are you for that? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/86OLi9i7j1c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> he played hurt while putting up 28, 8, and 7 in the playoffs. that's leadership. doing all it takes to carry the team, even when hurt. that heart.
The truth is that Rose is no longer an all star caliber player. He's still capable of occasional good games like last night but he's no longer a 20/8 type of a player. As a result he is not worth a close to maximum contract any more. In his mind, however, he still thinks that he's the MVP and should get paid. He will have a rude awakening when his free agency comes around. I don't think Chicago necessarily wants to get rid of him now but they certainly won't overpay to keep him.
