He's a dual threat for sure. The problem is that we can't afford another injury at QB so it's better that he plays out of the pocket as much as possible. As the season progresses, he'll have to run and run safely. This is on Seth. There was no need to try to plow over guys (w poor mechanics) in a game that we had no chance of losing in.

Jarrett Stidham is good at the football. Looks like Briles and Co. spent the better part of 2 weeks making damn sure he knows how to slide when he runs.
Stidham with the best freshman debut ever for a QB. 11th best day ever for a Baylor QB! Lol Wire to wire win on the road.. I'll take it. Whatever needs to be cleaned up is on coaching doing a better job. We get an extra couple of days to prepare for OU next week.
Wire to wire win. The analysts were gushing about what they saw. Wouldn't expect a novice Rice fan to understand football though.
Texxx.. Too bad too sad that your alma mater isn't ever gonna be about that life when it comes to football. Find fun in rooting for other Texas teams to lose tho! How sad that must be. Smh
Don't care what K State's record is. Playing on the road in Manhattan is always tough. Always. I was impressed with Stidham, not so much with Baylor's defense. Still very good shot to win the Big 12(10), but they have some work to do.
I can look at things objectively. What I can tell you is that TCU prefers the freshman vs. Russell at QB. That game will be tough for Baylor to win.
As someone who watches all the games (and someone who wants Baylor to do well...which is weird bc I usually hate them), this was a disappointment. Stidham was great. The Briles' decision-making was just off. Their front 7 was also bad. Considering Heubner was running a 1-read offense (and it was the same read over and over again), the long sustained drives are a point of concern for Baylor moving forward. Up by 14 points with 1 minute left in the 1st half, Baylor holds KState to a 4th and 22 from the Baylor 45. Kstate has 1 timeout. Baylor has 2 (or maybe 3). Instead of calling a timeout and forcing a punt, Briles just waits because he's not completely confident yet in Stidham or he's lost his mind. This leads to Kstate bleeding the clock down to 6 seconds and getting a free play Hail Mary shot. They miss, but they get a defensive PI, but they also get an off-setting OL hold call. So they get too shots at it and fortunately for Baylor, they miss again. This letting the foot off the gas repeated itself in the 2nd half which gave Kstate the opening. Baylor is still not playing top 4 football imo. Maybe they'll get there.
Wait, analyst were gushing over Baylor beating a team that was killed by ou 55-0? It would be one thing if Baylor had an impressive resume and just stumbled a bit, but they have beaten absolutely no one.
I don't see how a Baylor fan can dismiss another football fan's opinions because that fan's team hasn't been historically good. Just a blink of an eye ago, y'all were getting beaten 62-0 and were a total laughingstock. There's nothing convincing to say y'all won't be right back there when Briles retires. Also, why don't you all do the conference a solid and win a bowl game for once. It doesn't make anyone look good when you lose to UCF.
Bortles was decent and we lost. It's called **** talking. I can say what I want to a Rice grad troll that pops up in every Texas team's thread being strictly negative. Also, yes they were all gushing about Jarrett Stidham. He's as good as advertised and then some. If you don't know how tough it is to play in Manhatton and don't respect Snyder...then you're a GD fool. There's this guy named Kendall Briles that'll take over the helm at some point as HC. You know the same guy that's probably our best recruiter, the OC and the guy that calls the plays. Baylor isn't going anywhere but MF up. Keep hatin tho
Kim.. great post and I agree. Briles was awful last night. Not calling a timeout in the first half made no sense. What if they hit on that hail mary pass? Chafin was used way too much. He's our FOURTH best running back. Our true freshman is another beast in the making and Johnny Jefferson could start on a lot of teams. We played into their hands by trying to run too much. The last situation that sticks out is when it was 4th down on our last possession and they chose to pass. Stidham takes a sack (great awareness by not forcing it) but you can't do that with a kicker that's not reliable pass 40. Run the ball, make the shorter kick and wrap up the game. The thing about this last part is that we should have probably scored a TD. That wasn't a hold on big boy, imo.
