It's a different vibe in Charlotte. It's a all for one, one for all mentality over there, unlike it was here in Houston when Lin played. No one in the Charlotte blogs talks about--like they do here, and did here--Lin v. Kemba, or Lin v. Lamb. You NEVER hear that. Like I said, it's a different vibe. Jeremy Lin himself said along the lines that his time in Charlotte has been different so far because "guys want other guys to do well" (suggesting that in Houston and in LA this had not been the case). Kemba and Lin are great friends. With this team...even if Lin plays 15 mins you are excited if you are a Lin fan because other guys are stepping up and the team is winning. Tonight's game was just fun to watch...regardless of how good individual players played. Charlotte's got a whole different vibe than Houston had when Lin played here. No competitions. No divisions (with the players or the fans). The players having fun.
Charlotte is being distracted by having an actual NBA offense. And Lin is a pretty key piece for their bench, so why would they be unhappy?
No superstars and exceeding expectations makes for fun BBall, evidently. This Charlotte team reminds me of the 2009 Rox under Adelman...leading scorer was KMart; then they had Lowry, Scola, Hayes, Brooks, Budinger, Ariza...no egos on that team, just a bunch of good players pulling together as a team to try to make the playoffs in the wild west. That was a fun season, if I recall, even though they didn't make the playoffs.
They are in the East. They could make it to the second round if they really gell. Which would be thrilling for them, as I don't think they have ever won a playoff game.
I hate to break it to you but..... In order for this team to make it to the second round 1) They have to make the playoffs..... 2) ....then would have to beat either the Cavs, Hawks, Raptors, or Wizards in a best of seven...... 3) .....without the home court...... 4) .....with Jeremy Lin playing for them in the playoffs. Disclaimer: Yes, I did take into consideration that they are in the East.
I post plenty in the GARM and on other threads on the Rockets and on the NBA in general. I already said plenty of times I'm here to have fun on Tinman at his expense. And I will continue to do so. He's just a pretty easy guy to own. You'll see Tinman run for covers when I post, and when he does reply ... in about 10 exchanges he'll disappear.
Don't get carried away. I think the Hornets at best will squeeze into the playoffs as 7th or 8th seed, and be 1st round fodders.
This post has it all. References to preaseason, Lin fans, eastern conference and trying to create racism out of nothing remarks. All except Kim Chi and Stinky Tofu. But that's Tinman's taste.
There are two reasons why Jeremy Lamb is sixth man ahead of Jeremy Lin. 1. Lamb is ****ing outplaying Lin and playing at a 6th man award candidate level. 2. MKG is out and the SG in front of Lamb is P.J. Hairston. That's not very hard to understand. But I'm not sure how you can go from this to Jeremy Lin is destined to be a minimum contract around the league.
I got it. And now ... well, nothing really happened. If that makes your day, please post more gifs for laughs. Didn't have stinky tofu today?
Or because Tinman actually doesn't have a life outside of posting gifs, youtube clips and writing about Chinese food.
Oh, I don't think it is likely. That would be a best case scenario for them, not the expected scenario. As they are today the Hornets are at best an 8th seed swept by the Cavs, and probably not even that; but they have a completely new offense. It is hard to tell where they will be when they get some experience in it. And you know somebody will have injuries. I'll be surprised if Beal or Lowry, for example, don't miss a good chunk of games.
I would say the team would have won irregardless of Lin this game. Wasn't the case last game. Just call it as is. But that's hard in a Lin thread. I think the key thing, I would have thought for Rockets fans, is seeing how bad the Mavs are and totally enjoying it. For someone who followed the Rockets since 06, that has to be the #1 takeaway out of this game. That the Mavs are going to suck and probably be the 3rd worst team in the conference just ahead of the Kings and Lakers.
