Hmmm... Gar and Pax (the Bulls FO) control the chicago bulls press. There is probably one or two only "independent" journalists who have the balls to stand up and judge question the managment. Last year the Bulls FO started a campaign against someone who was pretty beloved Thibs. - This was very easy to see because everyone from their boys in the press to even the commentators were repeatedly and openly judgling every little detail that Thibs did during a game. In the playoffs it got even worse. I remember their own commentators were constantly praising Kidd and saying how much he was outplaying Thibs. And their commentators are very homers. In normal circumstances something like that would never happen. Then the press started leaking some stuff like Noah and Jimmy supposedly angry with Thibs etc. Long story short they can control the narrative if they want. They have done so in the past repeatedly. Now this detail has come out from that article : In the Heat series in 2013 while everyone was expecting Rose to come back and they had even prepared his locker he suddendly came and said I will only come back when I'm not 100 but 110%. His teammates at the same time were playing through injuries. If they want they can make Rose into a very bad character that no fan will riot against them getting rid of, trust me.
