Aside from that meaning almost absolutely nothing to his play, that's pretty much the reason he left Houston and people need to understand that instead of making it this hurt my feelings gimmick.
What he said. I'm more interested in what Scola does this season than I am in the antics of Josh Smith.
So how's that "defined role" the Clippers gave you working out, Mr. Smith? 4 points, 4 rebounds, at 15 mins per game. Ouch.
He was part of the reason. He was also part of the reason we couldn't get past the WCF last year. Don't demand people to show respect.
Hey, some of our role players aren't exactly off to great starts either. And don't get me started on our superstar guard and how he's performed in 4 out of the 5 games. Don't get me wrong. I'd love to have Smith on the team right now with D-Mo out possibly through X-Mas and T-Jones apparently unable to play because of a cut above his eye(WTF?!). But I'm not gonna mock a slow start when we're 2-3 and struggling for wins.
Are the Rockets the new Patriots? Players perform subpar before wearing our jersey, play well in our jersey, then return to subpar after leaving. The NBA's new dynasty is brewing!!!!
Clippers are 4-1, I wish Josh Smith well. He'll have his moments there. He was a weird love-hate player on the Rockets. He's just an unusual player overall in terms of style and fit which causes both problems and benefits for his team. He gives you somethign totally different from most guys his size when he's on the court. He did produce a couple of epic Rocket playoff moments - the alley-oop NBA Jam second half vs. Dallas and the Clippers one-foot-in-the grave comeback/demolition, so for that I will always be grateful.
