I've seen every minute of his NBA career. I'm just telling you he's got a case of the dumb-dumbs right now. He needs to pull out of it. KG has exposed him somewhat. All the same I'd trade a package of our players for him and Muhammad.
As you said Chicago is hurting at the wings but how exactly Dekker and Kj is going to help them? Chicago is win now and KJ and Dekker aren't. Also Hoidberg wants shooting and KJ can't provide that -not sure what Dekker can even provide at this point if anything. Indy and Chicago may be involved in a trade like that, but not with Houston as the third partner.
Outgoing: TJones, KJ McDaniels, and Sam Dekker Incoming: Marwin Williams and 2016 2nd Round draft pick
He is a really good Moreyball player...and he would space the floor enough with rebounding ability. Oh and he fits the bill of an undersized PF.
Wow, the Rockets were a completely different team 3 seasons ago. Asik, Parsons, Lin, etc. every starter but Harden is gone.
I hope you mean 2016 1st round pick and that is still an overpayment. Marvin Williams on his own is worth a second rounder. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="el"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">BREAKING: According to Kings sources, Ben Macklemore has been removed from the starting lineup. <a href="https://twitter.com/JasonRoss1140">@JasonRoss1140</a> & <a href="https://twitter.com/thenategoodyear">@thenategoodyear</a> live now!</p>— Sports 1140 KHTK (@Sports1140KHTK) <a href="https://twitter.com/Sports1140KHTK/status/662008791068618752">Νοέμβριος 4, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Bam. This is only the beginning. He is gonna get traded by January wait and see. Typical Karl.
No need to combine it. If we want to make a 3 or 4 for 1 trade, we wold need to to take back players to fulfill the roster minimum. We could use the TPE's to take back the other teams minimum or small contracts. Example Let's say we want to trade for Gibson and do something like KJ, TJ, Dekker, Terry and Hayes for Gibson, Moore(Shved TPE) and Felicio(Canaan TPE). Because of the TPE's, we can do a 5 for 3 and still have 13 players. The TPE's make multiple trades possible without needing to throw in big contracts like Brewer or Beverley.
A trade for Marvin would allow for the Rockets to: 1. Marvin Williams has a 7 million salary that would instantly come off the books next offseason(Summer of Durant, allowing the Rockets to be players with extra cap space...) 2. He would be a excellent off the bench PF that could play along side Harrell/Cappella once the team is at full strength...he allows for court spacing with his 3 point shot. check out his 2014-15 shooting chart on vorped 3. NBA teams rarely trade a 1st rounder...and not sure if the cap impact of receiving a future 1st rounder.
well in the last 12 months they traded 1st rounders for Enes Kanter, Jeff Green, Trashquez mad: ) Thad Young, Rondo (let's put that in asterisk since at that time he was considered by some as a "star") and for dumping contracts. So they change hands a lot even now -that their value has reached sky high.
I got to thinking about this after I made the previous post .... What I think he is referring to is that the Rockets had more than just the $947k in cap space and that the excess amounted to the prorated salary for the games to be played during that time period. Meaning should they cut Hayes at that point or before , they would still have enough cap space remaining to sign another player to a vet minimum deal. I'm not positive of the expiration dates on the exceptions but I believe that they still have them. At the very least they have Shved's. (I didn't do the math for that trade but for the sake of this post , we'll assume it works) I'm not so sure about that .... those would technically be "simultaneous trades" since the TPE's can not be combined with other deals. Technically they would be making multiple trades , not a single trade. The rules state that they must be under the hard cap at the conclusion of the transaction which they clearly wouldn't be in the event of making the above trade because of cap holds for empty roster spots and would need the two subsequent trades to satisfy the cap rules. I'll need to check on the simultaneous trade rules and see how that is calculated for cap purposes. I'll get back to you on that one. There is another issue with lopsided trades - Assuming the trade partner has 15 players on its roster , they would have to first create roster spots to satisfy the roster limitations of the incoming players. (they'd have to cut or trade players for picks) Even if they plan on cutting one or more of those players , they must have an open roster spot for that player(s) to complete the trade then make the cut. These trades are so complex .... and even more difficult to orchestrate during the season.
Doubtful since Milwaukee just inked him to an extension. Henson just signed a 4 year "poison pill" extension ....His salary is ~$2.9m but the team for him would have to match ~$7.2m - The average salary over the life if his contract.
Henson got extended for 11 per declining. But Plumplee and maybe Mayo in december are available i think. A lot can change between now and trade deadline. Some teams will become sellers and other buyers depending on their results.
21 million in salary. Go take a look at our roster, and tell me who goes. Also keep in mind that you need to have empty roster spots on the other team in order to absorb 3 for 1 or 4 for 1 type of trades. Knicks have 14 roster spots taken I believe so you would have to do a 3 for 2 trade probably unless the Knicks cut someone or multiple players to do the deal. So yeah.... its hard to see a Melo deal happening. Especially without giving up major pieces. Brewer, Ariza, and Beverley (22 mil) for Melo and a minimum salary guy would be the most likely deal. Either a deal like that, or do a Howard for Melo swap, or three way deal with Dwight going to a third team. So yep.... have fun with those trade scenarios. Its a pretty risky deal for Morey to even consider. More than likely I think Melo will be looked at for the Rockets, but probably this Summer when some cap space can open up, and the Rockets can trade for him if Durant doesn't work out.
Carmelo's consent. He has a no trade clause; he can veto any trade if LaLa decides the place isn't cool enough. Waiting til January to have the tradeable contracts. Ariza + Brewer + KJ + God Knows Who Else. Taking leave of our senses. Etc etc.
The Knicks are desperate to get rid of him. Melo probably wouldn't want to come here, but it be an interesting experiment (albeit one that would probably kill our chances).
