I smell a rat. Alabama? Really? The team that has beaten no one, lost to a two loss team and is in front of at least 4 or 5 undefeated teams? This is utter bull****. Watch, LSU will beat them and they'll go up in ranking.
Just keep winning and we'll get in. They won't be able to ignore us if we get into the top 5 AP which is still very plausible and if we are 1 of 2 unbeaten teams. UH is alive and well. Top 25 looks bad, but it won't matter in a few weeks as this isn't a poll you need to work up the ladder. You can jump fast.
I don't think Houston is going to have the resume to get in. Ya'll haven't played any non-conference teams that are really good. Memphis and Temple are really the only teams that have a chance at this point.

I think that Baylor is overrated at this point and they are living off of reputation and while you could argue that Houston is ranked too low, I don't think it is egregiously poor ranking for them. Memphis is certainly getting shafted. They have already beaten 3 teams with above .500 records (1 on the road - Bowling Green), Ole Miss (who crushed Texas AM and beat Alabama at Alabama), plus they beat the bearcats. If Memphis goes undefeated (which is a longshot) but if they do and don't get into the college playoffs, I don't think any non-power 5 team will ever be able to get in. Because they will have beaten 6 quality quality teams, 3 top 25 teams and 2 top 25 teams on the road. If that isn't enough to get in, nothing will be enough.
Baylor isn't overrated. We've been prolific on offense for years. That's not the freakin point. We've blown out weak and strong competition for years. That's not the point either. This team with Seth, Shock, and Coleman was clicking on another level. Nobody was going to stop them but we will never know. Stidham starts tomorrow.
Categorically saying that Baylor "isn't overrated" is a little too bold. Yes, they can score points unlike anybody else. But they've laid a huge egg in two bowl games during the Briles era (vs. UCF and Michigan State). Those are two instances of Baylor playing good out-of-conference teams, in juxtaposition to their schedule, and getting beaten. The argument that you aren't overrated because you're prolific on offense is very mid-2000s Hawaii of you. Take care of business against TCU and OU and this statement may not be true anymore. LSU and Alabama will knock one of each other out this weekend. Win out and you've got an argument.
^Russell's injury changes my confidence some but Stidham looks ready. Guys like Herbstriet and Finebaum have said that Baylor is the best college football team in the country right now for a reason. They know what teams Baylor has played. Trying to stop this offense seemed impossible. Let's see if that changes beginning tomorrow.
While you can jump fast, difficult to see a scenario where UH gets in, even if y'all win out. That is the issue with the 4 team playoff. A 1-loss SEC, PAC-12, BIG, and maybe even Big 12 team will almost always get the nod over an undefeated UH. It's the same issue that screwed the Big 12 last year and why TCU/Baylor are currently on the outside looking.
Baylor will be fine if they just win out. Bama was put in the top 4 to boost TV ratings. Which is scary, because if they beat LSU you cant bounce LSU. Big 12 might get the shaft if Michigan St beats an undefeated tOSU again but plenty of games to go. I think that scenario feels more likely than 2 SEC teams making the playoff. But I can see a 1-loss LSU and SEC champ Florida in it if the dominoes fall that way. ND I wish they'd just declare ineligible for post-season play. They're a novelty in the modern era, they've been a novelty for a long time, they're not a real program until they join a conference. I'm tired of them.
Vegas would take those 3 teams over Memphis (yep, the Memphis that beat Ole Miss, Vegas would take Ole Miss over Memphis again too), UH, etc... c'mon, let's get real.
Atlanta(2018), Santa Clara(2019) & New Orleans(2020) will host the CFB Playoff Championship. Charlotte, Detroit, Houston, Miami, Minnesota, San Antonio were left out.

2018, 2019 and 2020 national championship game sites awarded. There will always be problems until every team has a path to the playoffs. Win your conference and get in the playoffs. Yes, I want the playoffs greatly expanded. If the other divisions can do it, why not the top division? It would be wildly popular.
Why does a conference matter? Notre Dame routinely plays one of the tougher schedules in the country. You could say they play a tougher "conference" than most Power 5 schools. Want to cry about not playing a 13th game? Go ahead -- it also works against them. That's one extra game for teams to put on their resume that Notre Dame can't.
You can't honestly compare Norte Dame to any school, sec or otherwise. Norte Dame can make up their own rules like no other school in the country. Conferences matter, unless you are norte dame, and then they don't.
Baylor is ranked where they should be. If they beat OU, Ok St.and TCU then they'll probably get in but I wouldn't feel bad if they were left out again from the joke non-conference schedule. It just depends on where everyone else finishes but they would still deserve to get in. I can't believe any of you think UH should be remotely in the conversation. Their only potential win against a ranked opponent will be in their own division. You knew Vandy wasn't going to be good. Schedule better schools every year. Tennessee Tech and Texas St? come on.
