So are you totally comfortable sharing the men's room with transgenders?

This board is pretty far to the extreme left so it makes sense that they'd be out of touch with the average person, even the average person on the left.

People who supported gay marriage were once also in the minority. Your point?

Why not? They are men just like any other man that would be in that restroom or locker room right? Do you advocate discriminating against them?

And that's where you confuse and actual, legitimate civil rights issue with something that is not an actual, legitimate civil rights issue. You disrespect legitimate causes by conflating them with illegitimate causes.

If you mean compared to the east texas district of Rep. Gohmert, then, um, okay... I guess.

Compared to the Greater Houston area, the city of Houston is pretty liberal.

    Just make new signs

"Born with a penis? Use this restroom"
"Born with a vagina? Use this restroom"

Don't think you're weird at all. Just irrational.

I knew for the whole duration of this thread that the ordinance would fail. I know I'm in the minority on this issue. But, trying my best to state my case.

Yes, and San Francisco is literally more conservative in many ways than Marin county, to its north.

    Nevermind. Not worth it.

Times change, sometimes not as quickly as some people like and too quickly for others.

At some point this too will change.... just like rights for women, Indians, children, blacks and homosexuals.

Don't forget that gay marriage looked dead in the water not too long ago, in California it was smacked down..... and a short time later the President came out in support of gay marriage and within no time it was the law of the land.

LOL as if you actually care about the "legitimate" civil rights issues. Where were you at when a man was tased in the balls under police custody?

    100% agreed there.

I'm not even against people that are against this if they would offer up alternatives instead of just labeling others 'Confused men' and the like.

This map is telling, and shows how out of touch so many posters in this thread are. If you look at the map, Hispanics, Blacks and non-inner loop whites carried the opposition. The only people supporting this in large numbers are inner-loop whites. The montrose/heights crowd and likely a lot of students.

I'm a lot more worried about "confused men" like Florida State Rep. Bob Allen, Senator Larry Craig, Pastor Ted Haggard, and Rep. Mark Foley sharing a restroom with anyone.

Gay Marriage is a good example. Gays had a legit argument. Their argument also applied to everyone, not just who you were sleeping with. There are many life partners (more than the .03% of TG's) who neither have a hetro or homo relationship and could have benefited from a civil union. Unfortunately their narrative does not fit the LGBT agenda, so nobody gives a $#%# about them. All they wanted was acceptance, not a solution.

Most people prefer private facilitates. Is it so much to ask to have public places to have private facilities in future builds and retrofits?

Those for and against this are stupid. Why, because this proposition is stupid.

What if a transgender self identifies with a butterfly? Or a cat, dog, etc... Will they feel left out? Would male/female animal is enough of a distinction to satisfy?
