tom herman the head coach of houston defeated nick saban, they dont want houston anywhere near an sec team

clemson is so overrated.... they will lose to fsu

espn is in bed with the SEC.. they know those crappy sec offenses cant hang with those big 12 offenses.. tcu could have put 60 on ole miss and robert kemdechie in last years peach bowl...

the commitee would prefer baylor over tcu who just lost their starting qb

worst case scenario for the SEC is Ole Miss and Bama both winning out.

    18. Ole Miss
    19. Texas A&M
    20. Mississippi State

This is an atrocity. None of these teams should be ranked

I'm a Houston alum/fan but I do agree with the ranking. We haven't played a single team with a winning record. Upcoming schedule is tough and Memphis being ranked as high as they are is good for us. Just have to win out and we can get into a NY6 Bowl.

I agree with Big 12/Pac-12 teams being ranked low. The best teams in the Big-12 haven't beaten anybody worth a damn and Stanford/Utah both have a bad loss. Regardless, the undefeated Big-12 teams (plus Oklahoma) and Stanford all tough upcoming schedules and can position themselves in the playoff conversation.

As far as the Top 5 goes, I think the committee got it right from a who have you beaten perspective. I think Mich St should have been 6th.

It is still early in the season and a lot of change will happen.

Alabama has beaten absolutely nobody. A&M, Wisconsin and Georgia: none of these teams are top 25 worthy.

Alabama would be lucky to get through the American with only 2 loses. But they are a playoff team. It's a joke.

If I was the big 12 I would just pull out of the playoffs. Unless Texas or ou get good they are going to get screwed.

A&M/Wiscy/Georgia all better wins than what Baylor/TCU/Okie St have combined.

Regardless, Alabama/LSU play this weekend. If they lose, they are dead.

I think the Big 12 did a good job at setting schedules this year.

All of the big games are late in the year so their top schools should get the opportunity to jump into the playoff picture.

Yep. Temple is also in the AAC and has one loss but it was to Notre Dame. Notre Dame is no joke because they recently beat Temple. Thus the higher ranking.

If the BCS still exists, the UH Coogs will be at least in the top 12-15.

BCS was the combination of polls and computers. Some of Houston's rankings:

    AP Poll: #18
    Coaches Poll: #18
    Sagarin Computer: #25
    Colley Computer: #24

LSU, Bama, and Florida are decent-great, but the rest of the SEC is absolutely terrible this year.

Nothing changes for the Big 12 teams. Win out and you're in.

Toledo just lost, so expect them to drop out.
