In the flow on an offense there is no telling when you will get a great shot. It might come with 8 seconds left. Then you give them time to go down and get points.

And if you have Harden, one of the best ISO and clutch players in the league, why not let him go 1-on-1 and ensure that he gets an open look with zero time left on the clock?

 

The good news is the Rockets almost have to try to lose this game by 20 points.

 

Good lord, we owned the 3rd quarter! Nice to see some life in this team. I still want to see Harden go off like a boss.

 

Harden looks MUCH better, so does the team. He just needs to stop taking so many 3's. He's already taken 7 so far and has hit 2. He's so much better when he penetrates.

Teams run pick and roll in that situation all the time. I'm not talking about breaking out a whole offensive set. Just something to get a better shot.

Teams do run plays to get guys a shot at a specific moment.
