There isn't ever going to be a legit running game, Foster is done and there's no one to replace him with.

Hoyer's biggest problem is the same now as it has been his entire career, same as it was in college, same as it was in high school. He can be a very good QB when he has all day long in the pocket but if he starts getting pressured he becomes just terrible. You have to have an almost perfect set-up with a stellar O line and a great running game to put Hoyer in a position to do well against anything but bottom feeding teams.

Empty in what sense? They are 3-5 in a PUTRID AFC South. Their chief rival for the division, Indianapolis, comes into tonight's MNF game at 3-4 and is expected to lose to the Panthers. That will also put them at 3-5 in the division and unless my eyes fail me here, that will tie the two teams for 1st place in the woeful AFC South. Like it or not, this is the hand they've been dealt as of Nov 2nd. Now, which would you rather have: that or their being in a three-way tie with the Jags & Titans for 2nd through 4th place?

In the sense that the Texans are very likely to lose each of their next 6 games. Even in the putrid AFC South, the Texans aren't good enough.

So, basically, he's similar to Ryan Fitzpatrick. As I recall, you supported Fitz quite a bit (as did I).

You have an agenda to prove Hoyer is the worst, so you've consistently been trying to push that narrative.

In the end, Hoyer and Fitz are pretty identical as far as what they can do for a team. Best case scenario, they manage the game and put the team in a position to win. Neither of them win games because of their skill...but they do enough where if other players do their jobs, the team can find some level of success.

Problem with the Texans this year is that the majority of the team has failed to do their jobs. At least Fitz had a running game to work with last year...Hoyer doesnt have that luxury.

I hate to agree with Bobby but Fitz is and has been better than Hoyer. Even with all the interceptions he has thrown this year, Fitzpatrick is 3rd in total QBR this season at 78.4. Biggest reason is the threat he creates with his running. Which also makes him a threat to get knocked out of the game. Fitzpatrick is also a better leader from what we can see.

Im talking about Fitz as a Texan.

What did Fitz do last season that was better than what Hoyer has done this season? I think both QBs have fared better than expected. Mallett is the complete dud out of the group.

Fitz not only had a better running game, but I believe he was taking sacks at a monumental rate before he got benched for Mallett.

I'm going to cut you some slack, I think after the next 6 games, you'll have a completely different opinion of Hoyer as a QB. As sad as it sounds, Fitz is an upgrade.

I like Fitz better...but Hoyer isnt the abomination that you have made him out to be. Sure, he'll have his terrible moments (like Fitz), but he can do a lot more with the ball than you have given him credit for.

You've already lost the battle regardless of what happens with Hoyer as he was the clear upgrade over Mallett.

Fitz could also extend plays with his running. The offense is charged up when they see their QB take matters into his own hands and run for the first down.

What happened to all the creative play-calling we saw last year? Coaching? Personnel? With the running game and the TEs struggling. Why not do end-arounds with the slot receivers or put JJ on offense.

That's true of a lot of QBs.

Hoyer is an average QB. Mallet is the worst QB in the league.

    Get over it already

Again, we'll see if you still think that 2 months from now.

So funny, Bobby. This is seriously SO FUNNY. Personally, I think it's better that you keep fighting. I enjoy it so much more.

What's going to happen 2 months from now?

Mallet is going to learn how to use an alarm clock?

All Hoyer has to do is show up to still have been a better option than Mallet.

Aw jeez! You could very well be right here. After this week's Bye, they face:

NOV 16 7:30 PM CST AT BENGALS
NOV 22 12:00 PM CST JETS
NOV 29 12:00 PM CST SAINTS
DEC 6 12:00 PM CST AT BILLS
DEC 13 12:00 PM CST PATRIOTS
DEC 20 12:00 PM CST AT COLTS

They finish up with the Titans and Jags. Not looking good at all.
