I liked the part earlier in the playoffs when ARod said if he could have any player in MLB to start a team with, he would pick Eric Hosmer.
There's been some mentions of Alex Gordon or Cueto possibly being targeted by the Astros. If the Royals win this series, I think those guys re-sign with KC to continue to try to go for more. Would not surprise me.
Meh... I liked the batting title at like 20, the fact he was the best fielding shortstop in baseball at the time of the Yankees trade, the MVP's, Silver Sluggers and 700 homers.... Cannot think of someone better for Correa to idolize, than the best shortstop in 100 years.
Arod chokes in big games (playoffs) and is a liar that cheated, he is not a player i would like to idolized. And now i see he is dumb if he is going to start a team with Hosmer, there are at least 20 players i would think before him to start a team, especially considering the position he plays.
You think ARod is alone as a cheater? News flash a majority of elite players did in that era, some were caught and some were lucky enough to get caught. ARod also has a career OPS of almost 1.000 in ALCS and WS.
If we could only pull off one trade, I would have a hard time choosing between Lucroy or Kimbrel. Who of the two would you choose? I'm going to say Lucroy because he would be cheaper and I think we could give him the extension he wants to keep him here for 5-6 years. Although, initially they might require similar assets to be dealt in a trade.
lol majority of players. more like 90% of players were roiding in that time period. Roids dont make an average player into elite. It makes an all star into a hall of famer
Well dude, if for you Arod is a guy to mentioned as your favorite player, well, great, but i don't like the guy as he cheated and lied about it. Second, if for you is smart to say you would start your team with Hosmer, then, well, i respect that, but you are wrong. Before Hosmer, here is a list: 1. Correa 2. Trout 3. Harper 4. Bryant 5. Goldschmidt 6. Manny Machado 7. Xander Bogaers 8. Josh Donalson 9. Lindor 10. SAno 11. Giancarlo Stanton 12. McCuthen 13. Arenado 14. Posey 15. Corey Seager. 16. Joc Pederson 17. Kyle Seager 18. Jason Kipnis 19. Jose Abreu 20. JD Martinez Actually, Cain has better numbers and plays CF with the Royals. My 2 points are, 1 that Arod comment of starting a team with Hosmer is stupid, there are at least 20 better options, and that is without talking pitchers, and second, that i don't want Arod as my "hero" as he is a cheater and liar. Now, i stand corrected with the stats but my position was that he has worse average with RISP in the playoffs (i heard the commentator say that in the game with the Astros). If for you that is a troll, well, be my guest, but that does not make my position incorrect.
lol so you hate pretty much every player from the 90s? I think its hilarious when people on this forum hate on arod, bonds, sosa, but they idealize clemens and andy. Youd rather have jd martinez or xander or even a Sano thats stictly a DH then eric hosmer. lmao okay dude.
Sano is a third basemen, but was unable to play in 2014 after having surgery in throwing elbow, did you know that??? Second, Xander plays GREAT defense at SS and hit .320 last year, and is only 23, that is 3 years younger. Do you know he only had 11 errors at SS? Hmmmm, and again, only 23???? And lets see, Martinez, he has a career .798 OPS, Hosmer is .763. Last year Hosmer had an .822 OPS, JD had an .879 OPS with 38 homers. And about Clemens, i used to like him, not anymore because he ALSO lied about it. My favorite player is Nolan Ryan and Roberto Clemente. Also a fan of Lou Gehrig. I take Cal Ripken over Arod because is not only numbers, sorry, but thats the way i think. If you prefer to take a 1b that does not hit for power, over a 23 year old SS with only 11 errors and .320 average, and 3 years younger, well, i respect your opinion but i have to disagree, sorry.
yeah and he had 112 errors at 3b, averaging an error every 3 games. And Xander has had ONE GOOD season on the offensive side, you're fkin crazy to take him before Hosmer. Hosmer is established and is a team leader. Hes also a great fielding 1b, one of the best in the majors
and you're trying to compare BA's? Xander has had ONE good offensive year, and you're saying hes better then a gold glove 1b in Hosmer. You're just trolling at this point, i somewhat agree with the remaining players on your list but not with bogaerts. you're fkin nuts if you'd take him over hosmer. Hosmer doesnt hit for as much power as he probably could because the system he is in. Royals are a contact team, not a power hitting team. You put hosmer with the astros or red sox, i bet you hed over 25+
I take Xander over Hosmer any day, as SS is the most important position in baseball. Xander is top 10 SS in baseball, and is only 23!!!!!!!!!!! In 2013 in BA he was a 70 in baseball america and will hit for power at a premium position. Top 10 SS in baseball 1. Correa 2. Tulo 3. Lindor 4. Boagerts 5. Crawford Xander, with 23 years old hit .320!!!!!!!!!!
