No. Trying to improve our Defense and rebounding with a little dash of extra and better basketball IQ.
It's not always about the stats. Our defense and effort has been garbage for the first two games, and Hayes can help with both of those things.
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome baaack!! And as with Mr. Kotter, Mr. Hayes's here as a player & coach to teach Montrezl & Capella. Good singing for that 15th spot.
I don't think this has anything to do with D-Mo. It looks like Dwight is in fact not playing B2Bs this year like we all suspected. So they need another player who can fill in at the 5. Plus with T-Jones looking injury prone yet again this season, Hayes will be needed at the 4 as well.
I still don't understand what the deal with Dwight not playing back-to-backs is... If he's 100% healthy, then why is he not playing every game? I don't get it...
Chuck still can inspire teammates with his effort, but what we mostly need is DMo's non stop movement, screen setting to engage rest of the Rockets. Offense is so stagnant I wanna turn the games off.
I would have to agree. But have they ever said what exactly his issue is? I vaguely recall hearing that his knee issue that sidelined him last year was something he would "deal with for the rest of his career" and it would swell after games.. which is why he couldn't play back-to-backs because he would need to get the swelling / discomfort resolved the next day.
I like Chuck Hayes. However, I would have preferred to sign Carlos Boozer. Boozer is bigger, has a better offensive game, and can provide better spacing.
Recovering from a meniscus tear and his knee was bone on bone before that. Not to mention he still has flareups in his back. He's not 100% healthy.
LOL does he have anything left to contribute on the court? Just another big fat @$$ to bang in practice I guess
Chuck for head coach! As a player, I don't think he can offer us much. I am glad that he is back with us though.
I don't understand the bashing of this move at all. The West is full of very good PFs and we have no one to guard them. This is Morey trying to be brutal honest on himself and addressing the team needs. Offensively it will be a challenge to accommodate Dwight and Chuck, but DMO and Chuck complement each other nicely.
