I don't know if going from Jewish, Communist and Kennedy conspiracy theories to sci-fi movie franchise ones make millennials the most tolerant, least paranoid, or just lamest generation.
it's all fun and games until the mormons take over and start killing emo hipsters because they are not godlike nor pro-war.
Jar-Jar's seemingly clumsy act is a Drunken Master fighting style; extraordinary physical abilities; he gesticulates (Mind Trick) with every political promotion; mirrors Yoda's goofy introduction in the original series, leading to speculation that the plan was to have a big reveal that Jar-Jar is actually the "Phantom Menace" later in the series, but Lucas wussed out and changed the story when everyone hated the character (leading to Dooku clunkily being the "primary" antagonist in Attack of the Clones).
If you read all of the thread and consider how Lucas made Yoda the same kind of unexpected super powerful hero you will quickly see that this theory could very well be right. The problem is that Lucas was so over the top with Jar Jar no one caught many of the hints that Binks was actually the puppet master the whole time. The backlash was so strong against Jar Jar Lucas had to kill that plot line and start a new one because no one would have accepted Binks as a Sith Lord after the first movie.
When you read and watch everything in the post and comments, it actually makes so much sense, holy ****. Not saying he'll be in VII, as he's hated by all fans and it would seem an atmosphere killer after the prequel debacle. But the theory that he was meant to be the villian in II and III seems incredibly plausible given all the evidence by the post. Especially the body language, manipulation and the Asimov comparison.
The Reddit thread is filled with tons of compelling evidence. Take 20 minutes to read the first post then skim the rest.
OK, i've been re-watching the movie: In the Reddit OP, the first statement is this: Uh, Jar Jar is basically a humanoid frog. Why would that 20' jump he made be suspicious? Gungan are amphibious humanoids with very strong legs, eyes on the top of their heads and long tongues...like frogs. His ability to jump like he did in that scene is expected. Besides, if he was Sith, why would he demonstrate his abilities in front of two Jedi? So, first case is proven bunk. You can wipe that one off the theory list Here's more about Gungan from Wookieepedia http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gungan
I would like to see a Yoda sith lord. It would shatter our dreams and probably put the Jedi religion to permanent extinction. Yoda together with his Gungan sith padawan putting an end to the Jedi is too delicious.
I really did not like Star wars 1. That being said I would have appreciated it a lot better if Jar Jar Binks was in fact the bad guy. That being said. I do not think this is true. I doubt Lucas would change his plot because of bad reaction. He does not seem the type.
I'd like to go on record as saying, having actually read all this stuff, I'm completely on board with this theory.
