Watching the game last night, it struck me that TJ has the absolute slowest shot release I've ever seen for a pro-level player. Even when he gets the ball with nobody in the vicinity, you can see the process unfold: catch, decide whether or not to shoot, bring the ball to starting position, bend the knees, raise up, slowly release the ball. It's agonizingly sluggish. Almost looks like he's doing a deliberately slow drill to work on his shooting mechanics.
Nope, not that they are telling us anyway. There hasn't even been an update as to what he's doing. We knew that he was back running like a month or more ago and we've seen some videos of him doing some other things but there's no word as to if he's running with others yet or if he's close to returning to practice with the team. It's pretty frustrating actually.
Jones needs to come off the bench with Bev and Capela that alone will solve some problems. Harrell is needed next to Dwight.
Why does he deserve any love? He's sucked so far this season and he's missing yet another game(with a pansy ass "injury" like a cut above his eye no less!). Seriously, man up and put on goggles for a few games.
Were you looking forward to Jones going against Bosh? Sounds like a lose-lose proposition, at least Harrell will put forth effort.
It's amazing that some of the same posters who were trashing those of us that have been claiming Jones is not the answer for a long time are now singing the same tune.
No definitely not. But I was hoping for some kind of better defensive communication next game between the projected starting 5- including Jones. Unless there's some kind of epiphany Harrell won't have an amazing game, so Jones will be back to the starting 5 and it will delay even more any chemistry between the starting unit. And yes even if DMO is back you can't expect him to start and play 20+ minutes right away. He will need to get incorporated back slowly as with any case of such serious injury.
Anybody else getting the feeling that TJ won't be in the rotation once Motie comes back? Dude has been horrendous in the first 2 games.
I have a feeling that Jones will backup D-Mo when he comes back, which would suck if Harrell gets stuck on the bench.
So does this automatically mean that Harrell gets the start or could this mean that Capela gets the nod? Capela is a terrific defender out on the floor where Bosh likes to do a lot of his damage. I'm guessing we will see some of Harden at the 4 spot also since none of Capela, Dwight or Harrell can stretch the floor. This could be the game that the Rockets actually get to see the Dwight / Capela twin towers experiment. And of course I am looking forward to more Montrezl as well.
Funny how Jones was the answer at PF for us last year at the beginning of the season before he got injured. It felt like we were clicking on all cylinders at that time. Hard to explain what happened to him, but it seems like he doesn't have the same fire in his belly. OTOH, Montrezl looked like a beast out there last night and got a lot of people's attention. I hope we can still trade Jones before he drops any further in value.
Yeah, I've seen the training videos, but haven't heard any concrete about when he's expected back. Frustrating indeed. Thanks.
