Running out of excuses. Rockets have the best sg and second/third best center in the league with a damn good point guard. He has the team he just doesn't know what to do with it. Mark Jackson had the same talent as Kerr has BTW.
Morey, seriously...you can fire the coach. I forgive you for giving the extension, I mean it...I understand that people make mistakes but we have to move on... If you really feel bad for him, you could always assign him to Vipers, Im sure he'll fit in just nice. After all, its just money...we can always earn it back when we win the Championships... Just be sure, before you choose the replacement, think a bit further. You are managing The Clutch City here....otherwise, you could be replaced too. That I can't help....

the problem is our front court...Dwight and TJones cannot facilitate an offense...can't even make accurate kick out or passes to cutters....or its just McHale's offensive plays if there's any
McHale is somewhat Mark Jackson. Does well with shorthanded roster, but just doesn't have what it takes to make the next step. Both games our guys are just standing around on offense, nothing's happening. No effort on the defense, Jones somehow manages to guard point guards on the perimeter more than big guys in the paint, he sucks at both too. Harden always last to cross the halfcourt on defense, doesn't hustle back after his casual missed shot or mistake. Lawson's size makes him huge hole on D, if he switches it's an automatic mismatch. At least Dwight showed some passion, just got unlucky with the calls. And Montrezl is showing that potential on offense of having Lawson and Harden driving, giving him open buckets. It was supposed to be Jones making the open dunks, but Montrezl ended up being the big winner. Ball in Brewer's hands looks like a hot potato. I don't even notice Ariza any more. Capela being effective in limited role. When entire team is underperforming like that, it's got to be coaching on some degree. Obviously too soon, will get better, but it's hard to have such start to the season. DMo the saviour will save us sooner or later, just hold on.
What we are seeing here these first couple games is a bi-product of a really, really bad training camp. There are various factors that led to this bad pre-production, but there are four major key areas to look at primarily. -Injuries -Off court distractions -Laziness & lack of commitment from players -Coaches not preparing players correctly by executing practices well enough So really only 1/4 of the problems here are contributed from the coaches.... and I say COACHES with an emphasis here. McHale is just one of the three key heads (JB is primarily responsible for defensive practices, Finch is primary offense director). I've been accused before of being a "McHale Apologist", but yes, even though the coaches issues are only attributing 1/4 of the blame for the bad pre-production (in game is separate issue we can talk about later), its still a solution, AT SOME POINT that is more appropriate, to make that coaching change.... especially when you have coaches like Tom Thibs readily available. However making the switch mid season (much less at the beginning of the season like some of the idiots here want to do) is not something I would ever recommend. The Rockets WILL GET BETTER here soon. We just have to see how the coaches contribute to getting this guys back to playing Rockets basketball, and at an appropriate time, look at the sum of what has been contributed, and assess where the team would be with a change. If the Rockets somehow keep playing this poorly after Christmas then yes, that highly unlikely scenario might very well lead to a mid-season firing. But any halfway smart basketball person would tell you that its highly unlikely the Rockets with the talent they have (and assuming health pending) would be a below .500 team at any point of the season past mid-November. Most folks would say that they look like a team who is having some personnel adjustment issues much like the Lakers had at the beginning of the 2012/13 season. Where the Lakers really messed up was the overreaction to change coaches at the timeframe they did, and the bonanza they had with the mid-season drama around Phil/ownership/D-Antoni etc. on top of the injury issues. The Rockets CANNOT institute that type of instability in a season like this. Things have to get really really bad to make that change mid-season. Its also highly unlikely that a highly respected coach (especially from the JVG/Pat Riley school of coaching) agrees to step in to a tumultuous situation mid-season without a training camp anyways. Its something those guys just don't believe in. And if you fire McHale mid-season, the head coach then becomes JB or Finch which is pretty much more of the same, and who knows.. maybe Kevin adds something to the personality in that situation, and losing him makes the coaching staff worse. So my thoughts (while extremely long winded... sorry) pretty much state that we need to see what happens over the next couple months, but yes this Summer like every year we need to remember the poor training camp, and judge it according to the sum of all parts of the season. It could very well tip the scale to let McHale & co. go, and upgrade to a coach like Thibs if available.
Leslie will never let that happen and Morey loves McHale. There's never been any criticism. Our coaches have never looked at themselves and neither do our players. Harden might say he feels bad about that game 5 last year and all that, but when tonight you say it's about injuries, players adjusting etc. then what does that former statement mean? I'm not buying it. Players are not held responsible, also evidenced by Thorton not playing, TJ playing too many minutes.
Frightening thing about everything else stated is that Mc**** comes out telling us he doesn't know what went wrong these past two games. That folks is your head coach of the best roster in the league and a Championship team. Apologists gonna apologize

This must be a joke. The Rox are really talented but the Warriors won 67 games last year blowing everyone out.... Draymond Green would instantly be our second best player. So would Curry or Klay Thompson. Bogut is as good defensively as Howard, but more importantly knows his role. Then you have Barnes, who would probably be our third best player, legit stretch 4. AI is no chump. Give credit where credit is due.
He did not, Draymond green didnt blow up yet. He was a 20m bench player under Jackson, became a 30 minute DOPY candidate under Kerr. Green was their second most valuable player last year by a long shot.
