McHale finally got a tech. Too bad it made no difference and didn't even seem warranted.

McHale is gifted multiple talented team for 3 years running. Fan gifted a sub-mediocre coach for those years. What a waste of talent and opportunity.

Conditioning looks terrible, Harden needs to be in the gym not the club

It's funny. I think he underachieved in 2013-14 when Dwight first got here(at least in the playoffs). I think he overachieved last year given all the injuries and the offseason Bosh/Parsons debacle. And so far I think he's been a disaster this season.

45 to 54 to 56 wins and he sucks? We're not gonna win many games going 5 for 23 from 3.

Kevin McHale has proven he is a good NBA coach. This is not even debatable.

If you want to ask if he is the right coach to take the Rockets to the next level then I think that is a legitimate question.

To say Kevin McHale sucks after 2 games when he has a positive track record and a WCF appearance last season just reeks of an emotional outburst.

If you guys think it's Coach's fault the PLAYERS are performing like complete ass right now, you're out of your ******* minds.

Now, if we wanna talk about a training staff that's struggled to keep our players healthy over the last decade, I'd be willing to have that conversation.

i think its the whole team that sucks. we should trade harden and dwight and jones. fire mchale, morey and les. demand them to give me 10 million each. then replace them with 3 clutchfans members. i nominate op for coach.

I agree. There's way too much nepotism involved on the Rockets staff. Imbeciles that have failed at their jobs remain intact despite their track record.

Smart owners and GMs do not just get good players, they also make sure a motivator like McHale is surrounded by top notch assistants. Look at all the great teams and who are on their benches and compare that to ours..

It is absolutely asinine. It's been going on for years. I have no idea why they think it's a good idea. I remember versus the Mavs we kept having Jet end up on Dirk.

Our offense is just terrible, it seems like you got players driving to the rim with no intention to finish. I know it's early but I've been saying this last season that this is not the smartest team. The play when Curry shot an open three with Jones standing there like "what should I do huh, what should I do?" made me realize it was going to be a long night. It's Curry for God sake.

I wonder what's the Rockets' scouting report for this team and I'm not a fan of switching everything on PnR only to create a mismatch. Why are we going under the pick instead of over? I understand we're looking for threes but can we run some kind of play to get someone open.

I understand the coaches are not on the floor and it's the players making plays but this is getting hard to watch.

Switching everything is our strategy, you can thank J.B. and probably McHale for that!

It's only our strategy because our lazy players refuse to fight through screens.

Probably because we have a "player's coach", not a stern coach who demands hustle and respect.

Let me start off by saying I'm not a big fan of McHale. I think there are plenty of better technical coaches, and plenty of coaches with fewer weaknesses who might do better with this staff and these players. He's never been a great technical coach and we've always known that. He's not the guy who's going to figure out the technicalities of why certain in-game patterns are emerging and how to fix them. But he has a staff capable of doing that.

What he does have is what we need right now. Lawson and Harden are clearly intent - however well intentioned - on taking this team into their own hands. We have an offensive system with a lot of freedom, and a downside to that is it allows people to take control of it. If Lawson and Harden decide that they will dominate the assist category then we will suffer because this team needs to be aiming for 30 assists and those two guys will not generate it.

However, McHale is exactly the kind of guy who will walk into practice tomorrow and tell them they need to cut this **** out immediately. Dwight had it spot on in his interview - the team needs to trust each other, and they are too talented to need to be spoon fed THIS OFTEN by two ball dominant guards. Save it for the times when we need someone to create something - but we can't use it as our bread and butter. McHale's a hard-nosed guy who's won a lot in this league, and he will say that to them without worrying about whether he's on the good side of the team's best player.

He's been tremendously successful with this team and they will listen to him.
